I seriously do not know what her music is, and have no desire to find out. I imagine it would just shit me to tears.

Those album covers look brilliant.

That's properly fucked up Chillum, I feel for you. I am detoxing atm. Taking 8 or so months off (decided with the missus to go on hiatus for the footy (NRL) season to have a break as I have somewhat an addictive personality - started early March). I hope by the time I refill my script your "leaders" will have moved toward reform. I am looking forward to Nov. - but enjoying the break.

So far, the most interesting thing about the Trump trial to me is how nobody talks about how the justice system is anything but fair or equitable. Whether you are for or against 'orange man bad', no one ponders how such incredible levels of deference is given to those with great power and influence vs. what consideration everyone else gets. Trump has highlighted this to the point of blinding me. Who else gets this kind of consideration? NO ONE. Not because it's Trump in particular, but he is the best example. I'm not making a point about Trump in particular. People think it's to do with him. It's not - at least - this random thought isn't. The very powerful and/or connected get an insane amount of consideration that no one else is afforded. That's my point. Some of this is understandable given wealth and education give you a far better chance in the legal system, but the "OJ" factor here is off the chain. Yeah, I am using this Trump trial as an example, but again, it is an example of the point I am trying to make, not a point about Trump and his legal quicksand. One of the key principles of liberal western democratic society is applying the rule of law equally to everyone. It is in large part why everyone buys into the "system". But it's simply not the case and I think this goes some way to explaining a grievance within the great unwashed masses that translates into votes for Trump. (It's only a factor) The wilful ignorance of the unfair advantage that the rich/connected/powerful/influential have vs. the average Joe is not sustainable. Not to mention the ever growing wealth gap. Trump WILL burn down this system. For better or worse, that is who and what he is and says. There is no mistaking what Trump stands for. A lot of people will not be perturbed by that given their correct understanding of the current structure. I'll site a single statistic to back up this random thought... Most people in prison per capita = USA To be fair, there is a slightly different way to gage this: Highest rate of incarceration - USA comes in 6th. Still abysmal. Democrats are either too out of touch to know how to engage/talk about this, and more importantly offer a solution, or, the divide is no longer bridgeable so even if they come up with real solutions to this it's no longer heard. The left is not as crazy as the right. Maybe, but it is no longer relevant.

Still nice and warm during the day (~27c, 80f), but man, these nights are cooling down. The grass is dewy by 10pm now. At least I can drive around windows down and let everyone hear the mad Zep tunes... Firepit will be roaring tomorrow night!

Led Zeppelin Is Flying High On The Charts Again [Forbes] 4/14/24

That's so interesting. And to think of how many British up starts were tuned into blues from, what, 35+ years previous? It seems a LOT of British bands and artists were discovering very early recorded blues and built mad careers off the inspiration of that era. -
100% this.

The music is timeless. If the young'uns are adventurous enough to give them a go, A lot of them will clue into the fact that this era had the most epic music, and Zep ruled that era. The old adage they just don't make 'em like that anymore is so true. -
I thought he was ok playing wise. I'm not sure how Mr Brownstone effects playing, but he seemed on top of it. It looked like he was up for playing, but not for moving around. If it was food poisoning he might have been clenching hard against what the food poisoning was doing. we've all had something go through us that the body strongly rejects, it's rough. Something during the No Quarter interlude might also not have agreed with him, or he went for a break and his guts just got worse. Fantastic to see them in that film. The '77 shows in bootleg form might be a bit hit and miss, but I reckon being at any of the shows would still have been the concert of a lifetime. Amazing how many things are surfacing!

I remember summers growing up in Sydney, they were loud as fuck the entire summer almost everywhere. Here in Brisbane there are not many.

I reckon with AI it might be possible for Page to "project" a re-release that would blow everyone away. (does he have Copenhagen SB's?)

No president has done anything but reaffirm the ironclad agreement to defend Israel. It's the one thing that has never been partisan.

Swept under the rug?!?!? It was leading news for quite a while here as it was so horrific. Maybe there redrum, but definitely not here. Israel needs to finish the job. Wipe out Hamas. It also needs to realise it is creating a generation of enemies when so many civilians are the collateral of their campaign that seem of little to no concern. The west is supposed to represent the best of human rights, liberty, etc. Get down in the gutter with Hamas and essentially they win the PR war which is shitty, but how it is. I don't have answers. I don't think anyone does. It's hard to get onboard with "cease fire" calls as that would be a failure but it is impossible to ignore the indifference shown to Gazan civilians. Even if they did vote in these cunts, that was a LONG time ago and they repress their own with brutality. There is zero chance once in they were ever going to be outed. It's hard to say, but you get what you vote for applies. The real issue is the current leadership in the region and world. It's just not a good period right now.

The entire eastern seaboard is apparently getting hammered with hard rain. Sydney copping it the worst. Crappy dull and boring, but beats the humid wet/hot nightmare that was the summer.
