  1. My book was #1 in the Kindle store for three weeks in a row. But it just got knocked out the top spot by a newly released book on James Hetfield. I have one Metallica story in my book, but that's it. Lots more on Led Zeppelin, and of course The Ventures (my dad's group). Anyway, I've been getting some really good feedback from Led Zep fans - such a great 'family' to be a part of.
  2. Thank you!!
  3. Hmmmm. Sorry about the strange gaps in that post! I can't seem to get rid of them.
  4. Woot! My book "So L.A. - A Hollywood Memoir" is trending in the heavy metal section of Amazon (both Kindle and Paperback). I'm in the top 10 across 3 areas: #2 in Kindle Store > Kindle eBooks > Arts & Photography > Music > Musical Genres > Heavy Metal #6 in Books > Arts & Photography > Music > Biographies > Heavy Metal #6 in Books > Arts & Photography > Music > Musical Genres > Heavy Metal I think it's in part thanks to my fellow Led Zeppelin fans. I posted about my book a week or so ago in another forum here, and I've gotten so much great feedback from folks who read it and enjoyed my Led Zeppelin stories in particular (though I have stories about my personal brushes with other bands too). Really happy, just wanted to share my news and say thanks. Staci Layne Wilson
  5. Thanks ... maybe I should post this in "news"? I don't wanna be spammy though. My book is not about Led Zeppelin, but there are several pages on me meeting and befriending Richard Cole in the 80s, and then an account of an interview I did with Jimmy Page for "It Might Get Loud."
  6. Thank you! Nope, my collection is long-gone and being enjoyed! (I still get thank you notes, LOL)
  7. That would be great - I'd love to see an insider's doc on Led Zeppelin! Staci
  8. Hello. It's been a while since I've posted here (more than a year, maybe?). I have been very busy writing my memoir "So L.A." which came out yesterday in Amazon's Kindle store (and already in the Top 50 ) and will be available in paperback next week. Anyway, the reason I'm posting here is because I have some personal Led Zep related stories in my book, as well as tons of other classic rock tales from my time on the Sunset Strip in the 1980s, and so I'm wondering if you guys have any favorite classic rock podcasts or blogs that cover books or do interviews with authors? I usually write horror (fiction) so this is kind of a new world to me as far as getting the word out. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much! Staci
  9. I have extended the deadline to AUGUST 1, if anyone's interested in contributing
  10. Thanks! Staci
  11. Hey, fellow Zep heads! Some of you might remember me from my rather spotty postings here, over several years. Or not. Anyway, since I love Led Zep, and I love Led Zep fans, I thought I'd post my little Call for Submissions here. Would you like to write a short chapter for my upcoming book? The Movie That Changed My Life is a collection of stories written by people from all walks of life (doctors, store clerks, astrologers, chefs, woodworkers, truck drivers, etc.) about a film that touched their lives in some significant way. These anecdotes need not *all* be earth-shattering or profound. Some will be laugh-out-loud funny or maybe centered around crazy experiences while a certain movie was playing; they can be about a movie you didn’t know changed your life until later (first-date movie with spouse-to-be, perhaps?); the first film you ever saw; a movie that made you decide to go into a certain profession, or made you realize it was time to quit your job, etc. These stories can be centered around any kind of feature film – documentary to horror, silent to animated, noir to giallo, and everything in between. It will be a fun, fast read. Kindle to start, and maybe print-on-demand in the future. I cannot pay you for your contribution, but I am giving 25% of net sales to Reel Grrls. At Reel Grrls, girls ages 9 - 21 learn production skills through hands-on workshops and classes taught by female media professionals and educators. Reel Grrls is a 501c(3) non-profit organization. = = = Here’s what I need: Your name, your profession. (Student or Retired is OK, too.) Your email address (for my use only, not to be published). The story. From 500 – 750 words. Somewhere in your story, you must include the name of the movie, what it’s about, and talk about a scene from it that stuck with you. The story must have heart – whether it’s funny or poignant, it has to be entertaining! A short, snappy bio about you; no more than 3 or 4 sentences. Be as funny or as creative as you can! Boring bios… bad. Please add your twitter, instagram, blog, or website. = = = The deadline is July 1, 2015. By sending your story, you agree that you understand: it’s a contribution, and that it may be edited for content and grammar, punctuation, etc. Send it to me at: BlueStreakProductions@gmail.com My name is Staci Layne Wilson, and you can check Amazon Kindle for my other books (just so you know you’re not sending your stories into a black vortex of “?”)
  12. Hey, Guys -- Just wanted to catch you up to date on my Led Zeppelin collection sales adventures. Before Xmas, sales were great -- I made enough on just the tee-shirts to pay my rent for two months. Then I sold all the bootlegs, and autographs, etc. All the books, too. But in summer time, sales are way slower. Now I am down to the magazines from the 70s and 80s. Just thought I'd post my eBay name here -- 15DollarsOnly -- in case anyone is interested. I'm moving in about 2 weeks, so I'd love to get these oldies but goodies off and into new homes. There are lots of cool ones. Thanks so much, Staci Layne
  13. Hey, Guys - thanks again for all the feedback on my collection. I am slowly but surely selling it. I started listing the books today - http://www.ebay.com/usr/15dollarsonly - I'll try and get some of the vinyl up there tonight, or tomorrow. I've already sold about half the vinyl, tee-shirts and newspaper articles and clippings. Chipping away at my massively-packed storage space!
  14. Hello, Fellow Fans! I'm still in the process of slowly selling my collection on and off Fee-Bay. I've sold a few tee's, several magazines and clippings, some vinyl. Most of it I can get a handle on, but I do have a few books for which i can find no provenance online... so, when I go to sell them, I am not sure what would be reasonable to expect.
