  1. Who is putting this speculation out there?
  2. Sounds like an exciting happy time. Hope the guy proves worthy of your daughter.
  3. Looking up the astronomical charts for 1970 shows that the sun set in Bath at 9:30pm on June 28, 1970. Even allowing for how the camera usually makes it seem lighter than it really is...I remember when Tiger Woods was playing in near-dark conditions even though it still looked like the sun was out watching on TV...it seems obvious that the band went on some time before sunset, probably around 8:30pm. Still a great story, if slightly apocryphal.
  4. Despite all of Billy Corgan's rage, he is still just a A) Fool on a stage B ) Baldheaded sage C) Product of his age D) Rat in a cage
  5. It is a shame Norm McDonald wasn't alive to rejoice yesterday. But it's also a shame Nicole and Ron aren't still alive. More proof that life isn't fair. Before the verdict. After the verdict.
  6. Pretty interesting list, Steve. I am with you on "Celebration Day"...I frequently binge on "Celebration Day" from 1971. I wish they had kept that song in that arrangement for the 1972 tour. I would have died to hear that at the Forum or Long Beach Arena in 1972. Not that I am scoffing at the 1973 "Celebration Day"...it was quite a treat to hear that and it gave the concert a real power surge coming after "Rock and Roll" like that. But the 1971 CDs, with Plant's voice still intact and with Jimmy playing it on the 12-string and going wild in the outro solos and with Jones and Bonzo going thermonuclear on the rhythm, are on a whole 'nother level.
  7. Went to a Boris Karloff triple-feature tonight. Principio et finem similia.
  8. My buddy in Austin took this photo.
  9. How were you watching it? Because every time I have seen "Olympia" it had English subtitles.
  10. Hahaha. Angels fans lose their mind when Mike Trout hits the first home run of the 2024 season. Only for reality to hit as the Orioles start clobbering them...going up 5-1 by the second inning and 11-1 after the 7th inning. Angels in typical mid-season form.
  11. The way it is going, my autumn Sundays will become a lot more free. I already watch record-low levels of baseball and basketball...I haven't watched a full Lakers game in two years. If the NFL wants to head down the flag-football road, it will be very easy for me to cut the cord on them, too.
