  1. Thank you sir! I can only imagine what the people at Atlantic/Swan Song must have been thinking: Zeppelin still had incredible drawing power!
  2. So I came across this online. I wish I could find the original page. Anyways, it is supposedly Billboard's Top Rock tracks for some week in 1982. It seems a little amazing that Zep have THREE tracks from Coda on this list. (This was not the main Billboard Hot 100 or whatever they called it. However, to share the list with Supertramp and Duran Duran makes me think this was not Billboard's Hard Rock list).
  3. The 1977 versions of TSRTS are so damned powerful. The start/stop parts they just viciously nail. Really amazing playing.
  4. Agree. The 1980 Tour Over Europe has its detractors, but they were playing solid. A little conservative maybe, but solid.
  5. Thursday Nov. 30 Dallas Sunday Dec. 3 New England Detroit Atlanta Pittsburgh Tampa Bay Indianapolis Miami Denver Los Angeles Rams Philadelphia Kansas City Monday Dec. 4 Cincinnati
  6. Great picture. I believe he was mostly clean at this point in his career. I remember reading how the whole ARMS thing started, they were at this small party gathering and they signed up EC and Beck. And Page went up to the guy and said "no one asked me to play on it. Why can't i play on it"? He got such an amazing crowd reaction, it's bewildering why he didn't go out on tour and do some DW2 and some Zep. The fans were certainly ready for it.
  7. Oof. I *hope* that the timing was merely coincidental. It could be that they were ready to market the amps for awhile, but found out Wray was going to be inducted, so they held up the release. I like how he says he used the amp from the first album and a lot on the second album, but again, we have Page with the doubleneck, which didn't make its appearance until after the 4th album. Why not pose with the LP Sunburst? A lot more pictures of JP with the Sunburst than the doubleneck. Again, he completely understands his image and how to utilize it.
  8. I'm in the minority on this thread, so commence tossing tomatoes at me. The whole "performance" was what, three minutes? Rumble, if memory serves correctly, is composed mostly of three major chords. It is not that difficult to play. But credit to Page, he knows where his bread is buttered: his image. Come out with the double neck strapped on, and you could pass gas for an hour and the fans would go wild. How I wish instead he had done something of substance at Beck's funeral concert. I think he could have pulled off something super impressive there. To those who loved and gushed about the performance, I say "glad you enjoyed it. Let's hope we don't have to wait another 8 years."
  9. Way too many conspiracy theories. Like the fake newspaper headline posted in this thread, virtually any group has been accused of having something to do with the assassination. The only huge issue I have is when Oswald is arrested and says (not a direct quote) "They are accusing me because I lived in the USSR. I'm just a patsy." And then he is, as possibly the most valuable criminal in US history, led through a not well secured area, and shot dead.
  10. If this has been posted before, please remove it. I found this, Robert Plant's 3 favorite LZ songs. One is super easy, he's always saying it was the best the band did. The second holds enormous sentimental value to him. But the third one was a real surprise. https://faroutmagazine.co.uk/the-three-songs-robert-plant-refers-to-as-led-zeppelins-finest-moments/
  11. When did Bonzo start wearing the bowler hat? I figured not before 77, but obviously earlier!
  12. Cincinnati Eagles Tough games! Eagles and SF could be a real slugfest.
  13. A guitar player of incredible talent. His dexterity, his tone, his emotion on the strings, all unequaled. RIP Mr. Beck.
  14. I'm wondering if anyone has heard if fans get a refund for the Cincy-Bills game. This is new ground for the NFL, so if you cancel a game, even though it started, do fans get their money back? So amazing the stories about Hamlin's progress. Cardiac arrest survival numbers are horrible: 25 percent survive if resuscitated in 3 minutes, after 3 minutes it falls to 5 percent. He is one very lucky man to have had all the medical staff and their knowledge.
