  1. Hey MortSahlFan, I kinda hear what you're saying. Here's what I do; make the best of both worlds! Slap on some steely from 1975 and light a joint grown in 2015(16 if it's totally cured) and bam! Not often were we able to toke up on such righteous weed back in '75 chillin to Kay Lied while enjoying THC levels equal to modern day weed. See, you youngsters get things right. Then later, you can even VAPE your weed jamming on those Black Keys. Those fellas have heart. Sathington's list is rock and roll. Jimmy Page would even agree with some of those bands he listed. And check this out, it will get even better! Probably in a year or three, your self-driving car will taxi you to these concerts so you can get baked in route to check out the auto-tuners performing on stage. George Jetson would get a hard on and he's way into Tangerine Dream.
  2. I'm sitting in a server room watching Mr. Robot
  3. Almost as bad as the Plant/Grant role-playing is the ridiculous over the top drug-acting. We get it. It's coke, but seriously? They act like they're snorting drano crystals or something with all that gasping, flopping around, and breaking off rear view mirrors and shit. Reminds me a little of the wall street wolf silly antics crawling across the parking lots to the Lamborghini. Silly slapstick shit.
  4. Agreed. IF John Bonham had lived, and IF Led Zeppelin went on to release another 10-15 lps and IF they kept touring endlessly throughout the decades right up until now and were about to head to South America for another tour extension, THEN today's kids would probably view them as simply more old geezers like the stones and make fun of their ages (falling down on stage etc etc as I read above) Instead, today's youth still sense the "magick" because they cannot see the old man behind the curtain.(Well maybe sometime next year perhaps) We live in a world where numbers mean more than most anything else which is why so many modern musicians, actors, limelight seekers are more interested in their twitter followers count and FB "likes" more than the substance of their actual work. Meanwhile their fans are more concerned with capturing the moment with a selfie than they are the moment itself.
  5. Am I the only one hearing Walter White's voice while reading that? I'm gonna go stream Crystal Blue Persuasion now...
  6. I see trails, man. Happy a trailing day, my fellow Nails of the Hammer Gods.
  7. "There is a train that leaves the station heading for your destination, But the price you pay to nowhere has increased a dollar more."
  8. In 100 years from now Ruby Tuesday will waft softly throughout the elevator tube with gentle soothing sound waves and standing inside the elevator will be a kid wearing ear gel inserts jamming to Achilles Last Stand and reading about Page's most recent clone announcing possible tour dates in 2116 along with new music. Going up?
  9. We need more Doctors with stride like that. I would go further and suggest plenty of exercise (with Trampled Underfoot cranking) and then a slice or two of canna-buttered toast along with some cranberries and Bron-Yr-Aur on repeat for 30 min.
  10. A Requirement in any Great Lyrics thread.. (Ahem) It was an April morning when they told us we should go As I turn to you, you smiled at me How could we say no? With all the fun to have, to live the dreams we always had Oh, the songs to sing, when we at last return again Sending off a glancing kiss, to those who claim they know Below the streets that steam and hiss, The devil's in his hole Oh to sail away, To sandy lands and other days Oh to touch the dream, Hides inside and never seen. Into the sun the south the north, at last the birds have flown The shackles of commitment fell, In pieces on the ground Oh to ride the wind, To tread the air above the din Oh to laugh aloud, Dancing as we fought the crowd To seek the man whose pointing hand, The giant step unfolds With guidance from the curving path, That churns up into stone If one bell should ring, in celebration for a king So fast the heart should beat, As proud the head with heavy feet. Days went by when you and I, bathed in eternal summers glow As far away and distant, Our mutual child did grow Oh the sweet refrain, Soothes the soul and calms the pain Oh Albion remains, sleeping now to rise again Wandering & wandering, What place to rest the search The mighty arms of Atlas, Hold the heavens from the earth The mighty arms of Atlas, Hold the heavens from the earth From the earth... I know the way, know the way, know the way, know the way [X2] Oh the mighty arms of Atlas, Hold the heavens from the earth.
  11. Thanks :-) Came across the butcher image and had to go with it :-)
  12. Thanks! Initially I was going to suggest simply slowing down some on that boogie with stew.
  13. If you keep on eatin', levi's goin' to break If you keep on eatin', levi's goin' to break When the levi's breaks you'll have no grace to sway Mean old levi's so taut you weep and moan Mean old levi's so taut you weep and moan They got that why cuz the mountain man eats to the bone Oh, well, oh, well, oh, well Don't it make you sigh When you're tryin' to find your pie And you don't know which way to go? If you're goin' down South They got no deep dish, Cuz they don't know about Chicago Fryin' won't help you, grillin' won't do you no good Now, fryin' won't help you, grillin' won't do you no good When the levi's breaks, mama, you've got to sew All last night sat down in levi's and moaned All last night sat down in levi's and moaned Thinkin' about a To Go Box and my happy home Going, going to Chicago... Going to Chicago... Sorry but I can't take you... Going down... going down now... going down....
  14. :-) "What I Am" by Edie Brickell I'm not aware of too many things I know what I know, if you know what I mean Philosophy is the talk on a cereal box Religion is the smile on a dog I'm not aware of too many things I know what I know, if you know what I mean, d-doo yeah Choke me in the shallow waters Before I get too deep What I am is what I am Are you what you are or what? What I am is what I am Are you what you are, or? Oh, I'm not aware of too many things I know what I know, if you know what I mean Philosophy is a walk on the slippery rocks Religion is a light in the fog I'm not aware of too many things I know what I know, if you know what I mean, d-doo yeah Choke me in the shallow water Before I get too deep What I am is what I am Are you what you are or what? What I am is what I am Are you what you are or what? What I am is what I am Are you what you are or what? What I am is what I am Are you what you are or what you are, and? What I am is what I am Are you what you are or what? Don't let me get too deep Don't let me get too deep Don't let me get too deep Don't let me get too deep Choke me in the shallow water Before I get too deep Choke me in the shallow water Before I get too deep Choke me in the shallow water Before I get too deep Choke me in the shallow water Before I get too deep
