  1. Yes, that was cute.
  2. ^^^ I completely agree! Lady Gaga has great showmanship and is completely!!! The drones were a cool add.
  3. I'm just discovering this thread, and in celebration of the 5th anniversary of Strider's account, and the 40th anniversary of the tour, I have started from the beginning and will read it as intended. I've gotten through the purchase of the tickets and look forward to reading the rest of the story as we move along through the coming months. Very nicely written, Sean! Your attention to detail, and your ability to recall those details, is quite remarkable! By contrast, I can remember that I went to a concert 30+ years ago if I have the ticket stub to prove it, haha. It's fun to read your detailed account, especially of such special concerts that many of us never experienced. It's fun to remember how concerts (and life in general) were different back in 'the day', and it's fun to get to know you a little better along the way!
  4. Esther, it was a great pleasure to meet you in person and hang out with you for the day in the Crescent City! You are a lovely soul, and I hope we have the opportunity to meet again someday!
  5. Galatoire's is a lovely place to start, ebk! I love that while the dishes they serve are not extravagant, they are high quality and allow you to enjoy the fresh ingredients without camouflaging the taste with a ton of extra sauces and fanfare. And the lively atmosphere provides a true New Orleans experience. I have not been to Emeril's NOLA, but anything with his name attached is sure to be fantastic! Enjoy!
  6. Haha! Yes, eating in New Orleans is a must. Whether you are hungry or not. I have my favorites, but can't say I've ever had a bad meal in NOLA. Cooking is what they do best!! Many thanks, Kiwi! I'm super excited that ebk is visiting one of my favorite cities, and that I am close by to join her for a bit.
  7. Glad you arrived safely. See you soon!!
  8. Who can turn the world on with her smile? Who can take a nothing day, and suddenly make it all seem worthwhile? As Laura and Mary, you brought so much joy to generations who will always adore you and your seeet smile. Rest In Peace, Mary Tyler Moore.
  9. ^^^ Very nice, Kiwi.
  10. One of my son's friends had a LZ banner hanging over his bed in college. I thought it was cool to see the younger generation getting into LZ. It was a different design from yours.
  11. What a tragedy! I'm sorry for your loss.
  12. Envious! Red beans and rice, coming right up. ...tomorrow. Today, I'm cooking chicken and rice. It is a simple dish, and one of my family's favorites. Hmmm, rice two days in a row. So be it.
  13. Happy Army Anniversary, Strider! Love the cool pic! 😎
  14. Proudly watching the inauguration of the 45th President of the United States of America. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
  15. God Bless America on this day of the inauguration of our 45th president, Donald J. Trump. Whether you are a supporter of Trump or not, today he will become President of the United States of America. Why not give him a chance to be successful. Isn't that in everybody's best interest? If you are not willing to give him a chance, if you feel ithe need to criticize him before he has even taken the oath of office, how is that productive. If you are already spewing hate toward him, does that make you any better than the things you proclaim to deplore? It doesn't make sense. If he takes office and makes decisions that undermine the safety and strength of our country, that further divide our people, or cause us harm in any way, wouldn't that be the time to criticize? What purpose does it serve not to give him a chance. I am hopeful. For a safe and peaceful inauguration. And for progress in the coming years.
