  1. The Firm - Edinburgh 5 20 85 Soundboard I'm impressed with the recording and performance. How can I get a hold of this one as above?
  2. Thanks Zep Head Liked the prelude variation on a theme no lights edit: interesting fake news too - ;-)
  3. I must be the only one who thinks "Live in Peace" is nearly as great as "Stairway to heaven"
  4. Yes, you are absolutely right(2 years later -lol): Superstars Rock Concert Series Westwood One Great idea with marketing this material!
  5. PF Shine on You Crazy Diamond Can't get enough, wish there was more than WYWHere, DSOtMoon, TWall, Animals, and Fin Cut.
  6. Agree IPman. Page is incredibly unique in his style and ability, aside from the purely technical aspects of guitar playing. Give him the ability to overdub and "do-over" and his orchestration capabilities are unsurpassed -IMO. BTW, have appreciated your contribution to this forum. Wish I could have been there for the 90's/'98 performance.
  7. The studio version is in a class of its own. I've never tried to equate concert material to studio versions but to answer your question, I think the solo lacks length and improvisation. It is restrained and I suspect or wonder that it may not have been Pages' choice to do so. I've never thought of JP as a "noodler". However, if others somehow appreciate Stairway more outside of Page's role - I can respect that and I would be curious to know why. I was at the ARMS show. I've seen RAH and the you tube stuff. I like what he produced there - sure he misses some picks, frets and strings but I'm able to see through that and find the intent and emotion which is what makes him so brilliant. If I wanted technical perfection I would listen to the studio album over and over again or see John Williams play Bach.
  8. I wouldn't want this thread to get off track but the worst stairway solo might be celebration day's
  9. Battle of Evermore which has intensified my anticipation for the 3rd movie for The Hobbit. And vice versa - every time I see the trailer, BOE pops into my head -lol
  10. BBC sessions(...at this very moment DAC) - arguably the best of live page right here
  11. Morning Espresso and Evening IPA Missed the previous post re: Mrs Walter- 34th wow seems like a lot of treatments - glad she's through it :-)
  12. Thanks for the post - AML- love that album ITTOD I'm listening to Outrider -Prison Blues - some great guitar riffs there. I wish there were some soundboards available
  13. Rock and Roll - Knebworth '79 DVD Reminded me a lot of the Live Aid reunion - and they wore the same clothes
  14. I agree, Hammer-84 is of excellent quality. They put it out on the radio 30 yrs ago or so and I have a partial audio/cassette recording of it. If they are not going to make money off it, why then is it not out there in some form or another(independently). The fact that it just sits there in a warehouse collecting dust is a complete waste.
