Oh, let the sun beat down upon my face, stars to fill my dream. I am a traveler of both time and space, to be where I have been. To sit with elders of the gentle race, this world has seldom seen. They talk of days for which they sit and wait and all will be revealed...<br />
  1. ok, thanks for the opinion Mr. Tull.
  2. cool, thanks for all the pictures. as I said before, Google only shows the CD release versions of the TAAB cover, but I think I can crop that label from the 8-Track that someone posted. Thanks. I do have another question though, concerning Jethro Tull's summer tour. This is the 40th Anniversary tour, and according to the band's website they'll be doing mostly material from the first 3 or 4 albums. I've never heard Tull live, but have heard they've basically been doing the standard "greatest hits" deal for the past few decades. They're coming pretty close to where I live and I was wondering if anyone thinks they'd be playing good enough to warrant grabbing a ticket and sacrificing a chance to see a couple other bands I like. I figure 40th Anniversary tours only come once, but I'd hate to get to the show and have it be a rather mediocre affair... glad to hear what anyone thinks.
  3. yep, all i get is images of the two CD release versions of the cover, the "Late Extra" version and the one with the Compact Disc logo on it. the only image of the original LP cover I've found i got from a link on Wikipedia, but it's a stained and bent cover. for now I've just settled on a nice image of the "Late Extra" version of the cover. it's not a big deal, but i'd rather have the original LP version of the cover. if i had a vinyl copy of the album and a scanner i'd be all set, but alas i do not...
  4. love Tull. one of my favorite albums has to be Thick As A Brick. but one thing i've never liked about it is how the cover art seems to change with every release. I'd love be able to put the original cover art for TAAB on my iPod, but have only been able to find one picture of the original art online, and it's a pretty beat up cover. if anyone could point me to a decent pic, that would be really cool.
  5. most certainly not. and I don't see a lovely stream of high quality official live releases either. though i don't recall Trey ever whipping out the old violin bow either, so Jimmy's got that on him at least
  6. YES! someone else giving Trey some recognition
  7. jimmy for sure. i never thought "technical" playing was all that impressive. anyone can learn to play really fast if they try hard enough. all these guitar players that i hear being labeled "technical" players really seem to do is play really fast and loud, where's the sense in that? wow, you can play really fast, can you play something melodic? something that makes sense? something that sounds different than every solo you've ever done? technical can be impressive and all, but without emotion it's just a kid with a guitar who thinks he can play music.
  8. finally. someone else who thinks the Syd era Floyd was overrated.
  9. ok, I've listened to The Crunge about a hundred times over today. I was reading through the liner notes for all the LZ albums and had forgotten that there's lyrics in Houses Of The Holy. I was reading through the lyrics for The Crunge and saw that Robert sings about a female friend of his, but I could have sworn he sings "he" in the actually song, several times. I've listened over and over to the song and it seems to me that the way he's singing he must be saying "he" and not "she", which doesn't make much sense to me, but there it is. does anyone know what the lyrics are officially? is it "HE" or "SHE" ??
