  1. Sounds really promising! I guess they'll be interviewed separately, not together?
  2. Those ladies of Zepworld have just posted some instructional vids on YT, thought you'd all be interested. "Jimmy Page" on guitar "Robert Plant" on vox. and "John Bonham" behind the kit Not sure where Jonesy is but I'm sure more will be added soon!
  3. Seriously? Jim Matzorkis said he only found the strength to escape the trailer when he realised Bindon was going to pull one of his eyes out. Let's not let being fans of the band obscure our view of what was a disgraceful act of violence. And an act of stupidity taking Bindon on tour in the first place. Even Cole thought it was a bad idea.
  4. Bonzo didn't. Grant & Bindon did. Despite the punishment he's given himself down the years, I wouldn't be so sure. His mother lived into her 90s, so Page has good genes. Same as Keef!
  5. I prefered the previous bass player. That said, a Zep reunion with Page on rhythm & Gretchen on lead guitar would be a lot of fun! 😜
  6. Tim Rose on the same bill? Wonder if that's where he saw Bonzo and thought "now, he'd be a good drummer to take out on the road"....
  7. Yeah, Wall is to rock writing what Rob Liefeld is to comic art, or Herman Tilke to designing motor racing circuits. He's terrible, but he keeps getting commissioned.
  8. Fat chance. I don't believe he'd ever do that, just too secretive.
  9. Three thoughts: that 5 string bass is a gorgeous looking instrument Mr "Alternative 90s SuperCool" Thurston Moore now looks like a middle aged computer games store employee. Jonesy's playing music he enjoys, with people he likes. Him and Plant are showing their eclecticism while Page (so musically eclectic in Zeppelin's heyday) is ironically stuck in a classic rock timewarp.
  10. I thought it was odd when Mick Wall claimed Page was now a mad keen Chelsea FC fan (and that he did nothing nowadays but sit around watching football on tv) when he'd previously shown zero interest in the game.
  11. Just interested, is this summat you've specifically heard or speculation? I know Page had nerves before going on, even in Zeppelin days, but this is the first I've heard of it being that bad. Typical of such a perfectionist though. Edit: Janine Safer (press wrangler on the '77 tour) said that one of her friends in PR or similar was working on the 95 P&P tour and "it was as much as she could do to stop them clawing each others eyes out".
  12. That'd sound even better and funnier in Noddy Holder's voice.
  13. Mac Poole. He said Bonzo told him "I couldn't do anything man, Jimmy wanted it kept simple".
  14. I wondered for a while who the bloke is with the camera. He bears a remarkable resemblance to George Harrison, which means it surely can't be 1969. 😃
  15. It kind of symbolises the 50th so far though.
  16. I think the prankster who posted this up is the same guy who concocted the ludicrous story about Williams "blasting Deep Purple at full volume" to wind Page up and "prancing around with a cushion up his jumper" that appeared in the papers last month.
  17. For me there's a cut off around the collapse in Nuremberg. Before that, he's as good as he always was. After that, he seems to be phoning it in.
  18. Totally. The Crunge works far better as an instrumental.
  19. Notice how he says Peter Grant wasn't with him when they went to see Obs-tweedle in July '68, which contradicts most previous accounts (Wall, Salewicz etc) that say three of them went to the gig: him, Grant & Chris Dreja.
  20. What was this? Are we talking "secret guitarist behind the curtain" sort of thing....
  21. Zeppelin the first 100 days, in the latest Rock Candy mag. Long article by Dave Lewis & Mike Tremaglio about the early shows. Ties in with their updated "show by show" book.
  22. Try this Peter Grant's line "they're not gonna get anyone heavier'n me, are they?" always cracks me up.
