I am in this boat even though I'm left of center. I still make my own decisions riding the fence. This place used to be packed with ladyfriends. To keep up with threads and all the interaction was quite formidable, talking 2002- 2005, & thereabouts. Of course the release of The DVD and How the West Was Won propelled that surge.

Speaking of sound checks in an indoor venue of such, really every large indoor event.....I think it'd be great just to have the band come out early, do some rarities or not, Ala "Shakin All Over" sndchk.....jam..and get the best sound, soundmen and band workin together with a full arena....Bonus for everyone ! Just a half hour or so..... embarrassing gremlins be damned...then on with the show...doesn't seem to outlandish....

I would like to go to New Zealand for many reasons. When looking at the red/blue county by county map....looks like there are 4 states wherein every counties majority is blue, Hawaii, Rhode Island, Vermont and Massachusetts. 2 look like all red, Oklahoma and West Virginia. Politics aside....looks like a no brainer as far as the best places to go. 😉

To a degree, yes. But as I thought I clearly posted previously, it is not absolute. Even in the South, when you look at all the red, and they're divided by counties, there are still blue (democrats) in each and every county, some close to the majority of the reds ( repubs). If there was a 'war', where are the southern demos going ? Everyone moving up north or to Cali ? In those counties that show blue, like Davidson here in Tenn., Where are the repubs going ? To a more rural red area What about all the repubs in NYC or LA ? Where are they going ? Wyoming or Idaho ? See...each community small and large have numbers of each. The 'battle' will be house to house...the red/blue divide looks clearcut but isnt at all. RIght wingers diss California, a majority blue state so it gets the BLUE color making it look like everyone is the stereotyped liberal given by the right. Do you know how many right wingers live in California ? In each community ? Its millions in the state ! Even SF had rightwingers, its not all what its stereotyped to be. My point is...there can be no true war, conflict with our widespread political diversity. It would be beyond chaotic. If I'm not clear enough, sorry. If what I've posted isn't enough to be understood, sorry. Do your own community to community examination and tell me what you find.

What it is....IS. Can you not see clearly what the gist of my post is ? There's some sort of blind devotion going on here. Your clarity in that is the blindness you have with unbiased facts and deductible hypotheses.

Each of those county colors just mean a majority of people in that county voted for a particular party. It could be as little as say... 5000 voted for the Repubican candidate, 4600 voted for a democrat, 400 for independent/other. Or it could be a far greater difference. 9000 for republican 700 democrat, 300 independent/other Even a huge difference doesnt eliminate the minority persuation. Someone show me ANY county that is 100% for a particular party, repub or demo ( not to discount indepent or other, but emphasizing red/blue) and then you can have your own little army to go out and make your 'attack'. The divide dies not exist in any pure form at all. As I said...it's house to house, even smaller, person to person in a household. The 'enemy' becomes invisible if one's preference is kept private, as voting IS. You don't know who on your block voted differently from you, necessarily. Take the state I'm in presently, there are 92 counties that voted for one party, 3 voted for the opposition. The actual statewide vote was 60% for one, 40% for the other. From looking at the map...92 to 3 would be above 95 % for the 'winner' but it's really only 60%. In some cases, there may be only a few hundred votes different staewide but the color representation may may it look like a landslide for one candidate. The color thing is as skewed as our electoral voting system. You have ONE more vote than the opposition in your state...you take home ALL the electoral votes. The system is in no way fair and should be one vote here is one vote there. Nationwide, you get 80,000,000 votes vs. 79,999,999....that 80,000,000 wins. It's a nationwide vote for a nationwide President. Antiquated systems are no longer valid, skewing toward rich white men, landowners...when women were not allowed to vote nor one's with no property.

There is no true red state blue state divide. Every community has people of all persuations and if there ever was a ridiculously considered red vs. blue conflict...it would go house to house...there is no real delineation like state to state, region to region, county to county, town to town or even neighborhood to neighborhood. It's an insane proposal to even begin to believe there'd be anything but chaos for any side you may have sentiments for. These posts calling for the red/blue fight/battle/ war...whatever you want to call it is so absurd as to be from insanity itself.

Maybe our ex-leader will suggest we sniff some gorilla glue for a cure, whadaya think ?

Maybe some humility IS what's needed in this thread, however....those who are seemingly humiliated have a rich, again, very rich vocabulary throughout this forum opposite of the peace, love, and understanding of the ideals we as Zep fans should embrace. Humiliation is sometimes the only way to get thru and to expose such far right behavior and expression. Some use words to shoot down hate, others use physically violent insinuation, and direct speech, to shoot (bang, bang) down their "prey". I've seen far than one instance of a poster basically advocating a hanging of one of our countries leaders for trying to mitigate a health issue here. It's repulsive.

My thoughts exactly. All my associations with Zeppelin and fans never displayed the attitudes I see here amongst a rightwing mindset. It's very odd. Old hippie ways were never in these posters or they abandoned them with ageing. They sound more like the anti-rock crowd like many of our parents were and the "turn it down" scorn we'd get. Unworthy in my mind of a Led Zeppelin fan.

That source for Birx's comments doesn't provide verbatim quoted context to see what was actually said. Also....that source is seen as about as legitimate by the Left as CNN is seen by the Right. Where's the full context as would be presented by an unbiased source. No Talking Head slant, just the full and straight dope !

I guess all this shows is that...... COVID is smarter than we are !! Mutations sneak by the vaccine, that was actually pretty darn effective when it was just the 'simple' variation...they haven't developed new offensive strategies because the little bastard virus keeps mutating. Such a shame...if it'd been taken seriously enough early on...and ALL the people truly isolated early on for enough time...it could've stood a chance of dying out. But that would've impossible, not EVERYONE would/could confine themselves. So....it's out of control and we have to live with it...and really, be humble about it...and look at it scientifically and ignore all the politics left/right/down the middle and hope for the best !! I've not ever contracted it...yet, and hopefully won't...but a good friend, 89 y.o. and his 84 y.o. wife, just went thru it with 103F temps, sore throat and difficulty getting a deep breath. They, by the way, were non believers....till they experienced it themselves. Ya know....there are some things doctors and scientists have never been able to cure. We gotta try but there are so many people on the planet and many are still backwoods enough to pick up and fester these awful viruses etc....and then contact usually isn't too far away...then there goes the ballgame ! This world really sucks...and as many have said to me....it's not our world anymore.

Could be but when the Covid lockdowns were implemented and airline travel lessened, well, that was mostly in 2020 and IIRC the left wasn't running the show at that time. Maybe if those who had been running the show, and "privately" knew of the out of control potential risk of the Covid, expressed that publicly and immediately directed vigorous preventative action, the outcome could've been different. It wasn't taken seriously enough early on and within weeks the virus spread exponentially. Thus the far longer suffering effects in business and personal lives.
