  3. The Sick Again from the Led Zeppelin DVD at Knebworth is 10x better than the studio version.
  4. Hello, I am new to this forum, although I have been lurking around a bit. I have a question, and the answer to it eludes me for years now. What is the guitar effected with, on the song, "Houses of the Holy " ? The intro is what I'm asking about, it sounds "metallic" , as like a steel drum sound. I would appreciate any suggestions, because I have tried everything to achieve that Sound! Thank you, fellow Zep' s.
  5. On February 19 at the Olympic Studios in London, Jimmy Page will host a listen to the new Physical Graffiti remaster. There is a contest to win tickets to the event on his website JimmyPage.com. The deadline is midnight February 13. The winners are responsible for their own travel costs. Details and entry form here: http://www.jimmypage.com/news/physical-graffiti-playback-event Bon chance Zepheads!
  6. Hey Friends...Vanyaland has another prize pack giveaway to celebrate the release of Physical Graffiti...and this one is super simple to enter. Check it out!
  7. The biggest disappointment with the '75 tour of the U.S. was paucity of material from the first three albums. Plan said the band would offer some color from the entire 6.5 year career of Zep and yet we barely get any songs from the first three albums. The first eight songs of every concert begin with tunes starting from Led Zep 4, back into PG, then back in 3 and basically stays there until WLL and the very end where if we're lucky we get HB or CB. This isn't retrospective at all. We got essentially nothing from Zep 1,2 and 3. Oh yeah, toss in the MB from Zep 2 but that's a drum solo, less a song. Bummer.
  8. I have grown to absolutely love "Physical Graffiti" so much! It's become my favorite Zeppelin album of them all. I love the sound, feel, lyrics, different sound each song provides, and so many other reasons. I've come to love less known songs (at least heard on the radio) like "Custard Pie"...."Down by the Seaside"...."In The Light" and "Boogie With Stu" to name a few. I don't want to go on forever talking about how much I love "Physical Graffiti" (trust me I could), but I do want to hear what others think about it. Favorite songs, moments, riffs, or memories regarding the album. If it's also your favorite album from Led Zeppelin, I would love to hear why as well.
  9. The track listing of PG, as most fans will know, was dictated by both the songs and the fact that in those days albums had 2 sides - therefore, Album 1 Side 1 ends in IMTOD, etc. But what if you could condense PG into one super-album? What tracks would you pick to be your one-disc version of PG in the compact disc era? I'd like to share my picks to get the ball rolling, so here is my list of what I would keep on one disc to make the best album for me out of PG (and yes this may be sacrilege to some! But hey this is my thread and this is what I would like!! OK?): 1. The Rover 2. In My Time of Dying 3. Down By the Seaside 4. Bron-Yr-Aur 5. Trampled Underfoot 6. Kashmir 7. Night Flight 8. In the Light 9. Boogie With Stu 10. Sick Again
  10. I'm sure this has been posted before and sorry if it has been but who is the guy sitting on the left set of stairs on the Physical Graffiti album cover? Does anyone have a fairly good picture or blow up of this person that they could post? I want a half decent picture for a project of mine.
