  1. So, I had been wishing that Zeppelin would tour one last time so I could see them once, missed them as a kid and kicking myself for it. I figure they wouldn't be as good as they were 20 years ago, but still, cool. I have been keeping track of the back & forth between Plant & Page about reuniting and was frustrated by the outcome. HOWEVER, I have been listening to alot of Plant's later work and came up with a theory; Was Plant ever really into the harder, "metal" type hard rock? Most of the work he's done has been slower blues, folk, and nearly country music as with Alison Krauss. NOTE: I love this later work, so this isnt a slam on it! So, to you folks out there that know Plant better, what do you think? Thank you!
  2. LZ Historic Locations

First time poster. I am planning an adventure for 2018 to visit LZ sites, Tolkien sites, and family heritage locales in England and Scotland. Any info regarding access to Headley Grange, Bron Yr Aur, etc. would be greatly appreciated. Several sites on the net and stumbled on this...happily so. Checking Tolkien society and such but figured perhaps someone here had some insight. Thanks much, All.
  3. UK Visit

Hello all, I will be visiting the United Kingdom this May. I want to take advantage of the trip and find places to visit that have significance in relation to Led Zeppelin. Whether it be venues they have played, places they have lived, or museums. Please let me know!

  5. Favorite bands and acts Zeppelin played with?

Favorite bands who performed on the same bill as zep? doesn't matter whether they toured together long-term or appeared on the same lineup once. I'm sure this has been asked here in some fashion, sorry if so.

  7. Robert Plant 2013 UK dates announced

July 5, 2013 8:59 am Robert Plant in homecoming gig at Wolverhampton Civic Rock legend Robert Plant today announced a homecoming gig in the Black Country. The star will perform with his latest band Sensational Space Shifters at Wolverhampton Civic Hall. The gig on September 2 is one of just two UK dates. The Led Zeppelin frontman, who was born in West Bromwich and is vice-president of Wolves, last played at the Civic in 2005. He is currently touring in America and his only other date in the UK will be in Bristol, while he will also fit in a show at Irish Festival Electric Picnic. Civic spokesman Jonn Penney said: “Obviously we’re absolutely delighted that we’ve got such a world class name such as Robert Plant coming back to the Civic. “We know he’s fond of the region and effectively he’s decided to drop in on a hometown show. “We’re chuffed to have a name like that associated with the venue.” Tickets for the show go on sale at 10am today and cost £40 for standing or £45 for the balcony. http://www.expressandstar.com/entertainment/music/2013/07/05/robert-plant-in-homecoming-gig-at-wolverhampton-civic

  9. If Zeppelin toured again...

I think the variety of responses to this continual discussion makes for some quite dynamic conversation. Here are some of my thoughts. As we can already assume, the chances of this happening are close to zero. Jimmy has shown some enthusiasm towards the idea, putting most of the pressure on Plant. Robert has already told us, and shown us, the path he's taking in a different direction and the toll age is having on him. Jonesy and J. Bonham would surely be up to it, but I think this is about more than ability. Assuming a few shows were played, each would slowly devalue the impact of the 2007 O2 tour-de-force for Ahmet. That performance will always retain its brilliance and magnificence as nothing short of a triumph, but to see the four of them together again, and again, and a few more times, I think the sparkle will begin to dim. If it did happen, I'm sure without a doubt many of us would be on the next flight, myself included. It would be incredible, but I don't think we can expect a similar impact of that of the O2 a few more times, in both performance and allure. I'm 18 and the last few years have been saturated by a backwards discovery of the mystique of Zeppelin and the impact it had on times I can only read about and imagine. This isn't another 'born in the wrong decade' sob story, it's an expression that I think I can grasp the intensity of Led Zep now and understand that the final chapter to this saga was closed in 2007. Understandably, it's a thought that a lot of us want keep out of sight, but this book isn't to be placed on a dusty shelf. It's to be experienced again, record by record, with Celebration Day as the final bow. Although there may be some left in the tank, I don't think we should be greedy by driving so close to empty.
  10. IS THERE ANY CHANCE @ ALL THAT THE BAND MEMBERS WILL REUNITE FOR A SERIES OF CONCERTS IN 2012? I KNOW THAT ROBERT PLANT IS DEAD-SET AGAINST THE IDEA, BUT THE OTHERS ARE WILLING TO PARTICIPATE... PLEASE CHANGE YOUR MIND ROBERT, GIVE ONE LAST GENERATION OF FANS THE OPPORTUNITY TO SAY, "I SAW LED ZEPPELIN LIVE IN 2012!!" I FIRST SAW THE BAND @ KNEBWORTH ON AUGUST 4TH, 1979 - MY FIRST CONCERT (@ AGE 13), AND HAVE SEEN EVERY INCARNATION OF EACH OF THE BAND MEMBERS GROUPS SINCE. I MET ROBERT OUTSIDE THE BIRMINGHAM, N.E.C. IN 1985 AFTER "THE FIRM" HAD JUST PLAYED AN AWESOME SET... HE WAS KIND ENOUGH TO SIGN A "FIRM" ALBUM COVER AND POSE FOR A PICTURE WITH ME. ONE INTERESTING THING SAID WAS, "I REALLY MUST GO SEE JIMMY NOW, I'LL BE BACK IN 20 MINUTES." @ 20:35 SECONDS, HE EXITED THE BUILDING. ONE BLOKE ASKED HIM, "DID JIMMY HAVE ANYTHING INTERESTING TO SAY?" TO WHICH HE REPLIED, "OH NO JUST THE USUAL, ASKED ME TO LOAN HIM A FIVER!" WE ALL LAUGHED,,, I REMEMBER AS HE KISSED HIS DAUGHTER TELLING HER, "SEE YOU IN FLORIDA". @ WHICH TIME HE SHED HIS FULL LENGTH LEATHER JACKET, TOSSED IT IN THE BACKSEAT OF HIS BROWN MERCEDES (DIESEL), AND STARTED IT UP YO LEAVE. I REMEMBER STANDING IN THE HEADLIGHTS, GIVING HIM A PEACE SIGN, AND RECEIVING A WAVE AS HE BACKED AWAY AND LEFT. QUITE AN EXPERIENCE, TO MEET YOUR "ROCK GOD IDOL", HAVE HIM BE SO KIND AND COURTEOUS TOWARD YOU. I WAS 20 YEARS OLD THEN AND A MEMBER OF THE UNITED STATED AIR FORCE... THAT WAS 25+ YEARS AGO NOW, BUT IS STILL "CLEAR AS A BELL" IN MY MEMORY!! I WAS AMONG THE LUCKY SOULS TO ATTAIN A TICKET FOR THE TRIBUTE CONCERT FOR AHMET ERTEGUN IN 2007, AND THOROUGHLY ENJOYED EVERY MINUTE AF THE "REUNION" SHOW THAT NIGHT! I ONLY HOPE THAT THIS WILL NOT HAVE BEEN THE LAST TIME THAT THEY PERFORM LIVE AS ONE AGAIN! RESPECTFULLY SUBMITTED... MICHAEL S. MARSHALL (DAYTON, OHIO USA)
