Joe, the worst one ever doesn't seem to be posting here anymore, but they are people who just like to see their name up in pixels and will post all day long, usually about things they have no clue about and have nothing valid to say.

You can usually tell who they are by consulting 'Today's Top 20 Posters' on the homepage.

Well I post quite a lot recently because I am out of work and at a loss for what to do, I like going back a few years and see if the posts are still relevant, and if so I swer them. But I would never dream of trying to "Score points" by doing so. Why? is there a prize for answering the most topics??

GET A LIFE YOU SAD BASTARD....

:wtf:

You mean by "sad bastard" a guy who can't get a job, then sits on here all day and night, has dry drunk brain to the point where he rambles on incoherantly and contradicts himself with most posts, hates Americans of whom he has never even met much less spoken to and, oh yeah, has "ruined his life" putting others life at risk with a DUI....sounds like YOU fit that bill perfectly!

.Sorry to upset your apple cart but whilst I was in Cornwall one of my best frieands was an American called Bill Minton ahe was based in St Mawgan which is 7 miles outside Newquay, so I have spoken on many occasions to Americans I have no hatred all for them in fact when Bill returned to America he even bought me a gift I don't think he would have done if I had hated Americans, he also got me a pair of Sansui speakers which were 3800 pound seach in the UK, and he only charged me £100 for the pair, and I still use them. As for your rather nasty comment about my "dry drunk brain"...Oh by the way it is spelt incoherently, had a drink before you wrote this post did you? Well for your information of my own accord I arranged to see an alcohol counsellor for 4 years. I don't know if you are aware, but the acceptable units of alcohol is put at 21 units per week for adult females and 28 units per week for adult males, I have stopped seeing the counsellor for quite some time now and my weekly intake of alcohol is 4 units per week. Can you say the same? The rest of your outburst is pure nastiness and too personal, for someone I have never met you seem to know an awful lot about me, do you study every one of my replies? That does make you a sad bastard after all. And I paid the penalty for my drink driving conviction, I am not proud of it and I have never driven ever since. You make Vitriolic spouts from anononimity, proud of yourself Eh! Down by the seaside, where is that or are you too ashamed of where you come from? I am not sorry for anything that I have said, and I do not consider them offensive. Unlike your comment about "a guy who can't get a job", Who the fuck are you to comment on a situation that you know absolutely nothing about, or a person who you know nothing about except for my posts which you obviously read over and over to be able to know so much about them, christ, you know more about them than me. Also I do not fit the bill a a sad bastard as my family can vouch for, do you know e.g. how much better a person I have become over the past few years. The answer is no you don't. You are the only person that has cast aspersions on the character of someone you don't know. Or do you do it on a regular basis Shame on you.

A random observation I made last night.....Is it me or are there even more commercials on television these days? I'm not a big tv watcher, but the last few times (as soon as I turn the set on) I've had to flip through maybe 20 channels or more to find ANY show that wasn't airing a commercial break. I know years ago the FCC over here had rules (at least for broadcast tv) but I guess anything goes now.

I'd be curious in a given hour what the actual programming time is. Just curious if anyone that does watch a lot of tv has noticed a big uptick in commercial breaks or if it's me? missy

^ Missy, I think you have far more of them than us, but over here it's around 15mins per hour. You can tell this by watching shows 'on demand'. For example, our classic soap Coronation Street has 30min slots, but shorn of its commercials it's only 22min on demand. Likewise, the hour-long shows are usually around 45 mins. But you have it much, much worse, and I remember this from watching TV in the US in the 70s. It was fucking irritating back then, so I can only guess how much worse it is now. Our Simpsons only have one break, but as with other US shows, you can see where the UK broadcaster has deleted additional commercial breaks. I would guess you probably have 3 breaks during The Simpsons...?

But the thing that pisses me off the most is that all the channels seem to have commercials at exactly the same time, so you can't even surf to avoid them.

Fortunately, we also have the BBC here. No commercials! :cheer:

Yep, there are easily more commercials on TV these day's. That's annoying alright but what I find even more annoying is that the sound volume of said commercials is always higher than the volume you've set for watching the actual show. I've heard there's to be a law introduced in Canada to stop that . Can't wait !

^ +1.

My latest TV has a function where you can set the volume to be equal throughout. Unfortunately, it seems to affect the overall sound quality, so I never use it.

MM My daughter would agree with you there, whenever there is an advert on she skips to other channels ,as you say they all have them at the same time and sometimes even the same adverts. The BBC are good in that respect but I do not find too many of their programmes suit my taste, although they do have some good ones, their coverage of the football licks ITV into toch and Adrian Chiles really gets on my nerves.

Joe - don't start sh!t, there won't be sh!t.....everything I stated came from your own posts. I could have gone further and been very personal, but I chose to leave it out. You are the biggest hypocrite around, you want everything positive but then you put a negative twist on it. You don't want people to dissect posts, then you try to point out a spelling error. I used to take pity on you, but no longer do.

The other night...so rock is not dead, convince me.... Big blow up between a couple of regulars that had been brewing for a while - or so I'm told! ;)

Didn't actually see it myself. Hope that helps.
