If you wish it to be about Led Zeppelin History:

August 17, 1969 - Wallingford, CT -

AUGUST 17, 1969 - OAKDALE THEATRE, WALLINGFORD, CONNECTICUT (SUNDAY, 8pm)
Support from The Mustard Family. The show was performed on a revolving stage, resulting in very uneven sound.

Recording Includes: The Train Kept A Rollin' [ cut ] >> I Can't Quit You Baby.
Source: Incomplete fair audience recording. 8 minutes.
Details: A distorted and very distant tape.

Bootleg CD Reference(s): Anybody Got A Les Paul? (Equinox), Red Snapper Deluxe (Balboa Productions), & Tales From '69 (Tarantura)

Comments: This is all that exists from this show ... I heard that the taper stored it for years in bad conditions and this is the only undamaged part of the tape. A very powerful fragment and it leads me to believe the rest of the show was equally powerful and exciting.

AUGUST 17, 1970 - HAMPTON COLISEUM, HAMPTON BEACH, VIRGINIA (MONDAY)

AUGUST 17 - HAMPTON COLISEUM, HAMPTON BEACH, VIRGINIA (MONDAY)
The show was rescheduled from August 10, 1970.

Recording Includes: Immigrant Song >> Heartbreaker (<< Bouree..), Dazed And Confused, Bring It On Home, That's The Way, Bron-Yr-Aur, [ cut ], Since I've Been Loving You, Organ Solo >> Thank You, What Is And What Should Never Be, Moby Dick, Whole Lotta Love (<< Back In The USA, Boogie Chillun [ cut ], I'm Moving On, CC Rider..), Announcer Speech, Communication Breakdown (<< Good Times Bad Times..).
Source: Incomplete fair to good audience recording. Almost 122 minutes.
Details: It's distant, overloaded and sometimes barely listenable source with only the voice clear in the general mush. The instruments do clear on occasions but there are some dropouts, volume/channel changes and recorder handling noise in various places. When sound progresses, the hiss is becoming even more annoying.

Bootleg CD Reference(s): Live In Hampton 1970 (The Diagrams Of Led Zeppelin)

Comments: This show varies bewteen great and average. Bron-Yr-Aur is the worst, sounding like Page tuning his guitar for two minutes. However, they do achieve some unique dramatic effects in the early part of Dazed And Confused, and the guitar solo in Since I've Been Loving You is very dramatic. The ending guitar work in Imigrant Song also sounds very unusual.

Couretsy of AA ^^

But basically, (Kipper), a few people participated (trying to fill in) in Deborah J's absence, and people pitched a hissy fit and started a Conspiracy Theory that the thread was trying to be subverted from Deborah J, who didn't even start the thread.

*If anyone wishes to include non-Led Zeppelin shows (as solo shows) please feel free to add.* before I am accused of subverting the thread by the likes of Walter and Ross for a conspiracy.* Otherwise, enjoy early Led Zeppelin, from August 17th 1969 & 1970!

Long Live Led Zeppelin - Best Band Ever!

sorry I didnt see this before but i like this format much better.  Having a link to the videos works 100% better for me because how my internet the page loads faster. I like your comment sections to because it is better than just some cut and paste stuff. I just read that Deborah had a tradgedy so now understand what happened to this thread for so long.  I hope things are well for her now. but I think you should put more pages up to because they are really good Andy.  thank for those contributions.--- kipper

Thanks Ross and Walter and the others for the kind words. kipper and andy,  I do know that Ross and Walter are great people. Fact!

This thread is open to anyone to post as they will (just not cool to use other peoples work).  Anyhow, good luck with keeping the thread updated. I truly mean this :whistling:

40 years ago today.  Saturday, August 13, 1977 at JFK Stadium in Philadelphia.  This was going to be the last show of third leg of the US tour.  100,000 fans at a daytime concert.  I looked up the weather in Philly that day.  It was 91 and humid.

To get an idea of the scope of the crowd, go check the video of Live Aid.  That is JFK Stadium filled to capacity.

On 22nd August 1969, Led Zeppelin played Pirates' World, which suited their buccaneering spirit. Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum!

When in Miami, the band stayed at the Doral hotel, which had a cocktail lounge nightclub in the basement. They got to hear Little Richard and his band in the club environment and boy were they good. It's Little Richard's songs that pioneered rock'n'roll. With Elvis singing them, this black music source just went under the radar during a racist period of time.

That was taken from Jimmy Page's website.

2-16-75

The first leg of the 75 tour comes to an end with a St Louis show. Wasn't it a rescheduled show too, making up for one of the days when Plant was sick early in the tour? Led Zeppelin would return 10 days later and things would really begin to take off... although I think that the last few dates of the first leg, certainly 2-12, 2-13, 2-14 and 2-16 are actually every bit as good as the end of February-March shows

The first 1977 footage I ever saw, all those years ago on VHS.  Brought back so many memories from the 77 show I saw.

This footage also blew my mind when I first saw it back in the mid 90’s. Just watch Jimmy shuffling around....so exciting!

“From one Birmingham to another’ .....love this show!

cheers
