PORKY PECKO PRESSING OF LED ZEPPELIN IV!

Early bird shopping at Amoeba this morning and I just scored a 'Pecko Duck'(or Porky Pecko) pressing of Led Zeppelin IV for $20! YES!!!

SD 7208 It says # ST-A-712285-MO/ ST-A-712286-MO on the label but the run-off groove shows the letters DD instead of MO.

There's a lot of glare but you can just make out the PECKO DUCK in the run-off groove.

:drinks: Lucky you!!

I know...I feel lucky. Actually, the record is described as having "light wear", but really it's only the album cover that shows a little wear...the album itself is near-mint quality.

Oh, and I probably shouldn't have assumed everyone would know George "Pecko Duck" Peckham...here's some info: http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Peckham

I've never looked before, so I took a look at my copy that I purchased in 1971 with the, red/plum label, and on side one it reads "PECKO DUCK" and on side two "PORKY".I've never thought of looking at any albums to see if there are any markings on them. Maybe I'll look at a few others, are there any more out there?

There are so many pressings how do we know which is which, different sites say different things, I have a copy on the red/plum label that I purchased in 1971, apart from the etchings it has Peter Grant mentioned on the label, and on side 2 the feather is upside down.

after seeing this post, i went to my local record store (an independent, hole in the wall kind of place) and they had 3 of these Pecko IV's. not one was more than $13. needless to say, i picked up a copy (which plays very cleanly and sounds fabulous!). what do these normally go for? i might have to nab his other copies....

They are coveted (I have six), but they don't really attract much of a premium. They are very common in Canada, and presumably elsewhere.

A while back I went through all of my dads LPs from back in his day and came across a copy of IV and Houses Of The Holy, which is pretty cool! Wish he was as into Zeppelin back then as I am today so there would be more, but just so happens the copy of IV has this same writing on it.

I have one of these, too.
