jabe
tell me what is your favourite lyric, out of the the songs Led Zeppelin wrote, I was looking at the words of some of the songs last evening, and was chatting with friends, all sorts came up,so we had a debate to find out which ones or solo one, they liked best, mine was: From Stairway to Heaven. With a word she can get what she came for. I also like Speak to me only with your eyes, but I said only one. LOL One of my faves- Took my seed from my shakin' frame. Same old fire, another flame.... Reminds me of my college daze,uh..I mean days.
nirvana
Achilles Last Stand... It was an April morning when they told us we should go And as I turned to you, you smiled at me, how could we say no? With all the fun to have, to live the dreams we always had Oh, the songs to sing, when we at last return again Sending off a glancing kiss, to those who claim they know Below the streets that steam and hiss, The devil's in his hole Oh to sail away, To sandy lands and other days Oh to touch the dream, Hides inside and never seen. Into the sun the south the north, at last the birds have flown The shackles of commitment fell, In pieces on the ground Oh to ride the wind, To tread the air above the din Oh to laugh aloud, Dancing as we fought the crowd To seek the man whose pointing hand, The giant step unfolds To guide us from the curving path, That churns up into stone If one bell should ring, in celebration for a king So fast the heart should beat, As proud the head with heavy feet. Days went by when you and I, bathed in eternal summers glow As far away and distant, Our mutual child did grow Oh the sweet refrain, Soothes the soul and calms the pain Oh Albion remains, sleeping now to rise again Wandering and wondering, What place to rest the search The mighty arms of Atlas, Hold the heavens upon the earth The mighty arms of Atlas, Hold the heavens from the earth From the earth... I know the way, know the way, know the way, know the way (X2) Oh the mighty arms of Atlas, Hold the heavens from the earth.
donaldbain
My fave is the complete Stairway, I was poisoned by venomous spider bites in 1980 and spent several days in a fevered delerium. Stairway ran through my head on continuous loop. Surprisingly, I can still listen to it. For the record the piper did not call me to join him! Whew! FoolInTheRain75
One of my favorite lines would have to be from The Rain Song: You are the sunlight in my growing so little warmth I felt before It isn't hard to feel me glowing I watched the fire that grew so low I have to listen to that song everytime it rains. Such a great song. and for my other line, which happens to be my instant happy song, is from Night Flight: I received a message from my brother 'cross the water He sat laughin' as he wrote the ends in sight So I said goodbye to all my friends And packed my hopes inside a matchbox 'Cause I know it's time to fly As soon as I hear Bonham play that tapping-like cymbal intro, I can only smile and anything that was bothering my instantly goes away. Gotta love Zeppelin.

Idunn
Seek the man whose pointing hand the giant step unfolds Guide us from the curving path that turns our feet to stone and No comfort has the fire at night that lights the face so cold Dance in the dark of night, sing 'till the mornin' light and Oh how I wonder, oh how I worry and I would dearly like to know How all this squander of earthly plunder will leave us anything to show
Z88
I love many lyrics, but here's an example from kashmir: Oh let the sun beat down upon my face, stars to fill my dream, I am a traveler of both time and space, to be where I have been. and Immigrant Song: We come from the land of the ice and snow, From the midnight sun where the hot springs blow.
