I remember being in Cwm Einion, and I met with a group of hippies, they were just on the side of the road, dancing to Led Zeppelin, kind I came across them, one of their favourite song was Stairway to Heaven, I said, oh yes you my people have come to the right place, and as we played out the words of Stairway to Heaven in that beautiful valley each line of every lyric to that song relates to the beautiful place, how do you know this, I said oh someone very - very special told me, and with that I bid them peace and went on my way.

Great post Georgia-it kinda joggled my memory.I have a few instances that I'll forever remember (mostly quite positive) while listening to Led Zeppelin over the years.I'm sure a lot of others do as well. And thanks for reminding me I've still got some hippy left in me.

Lots of great lyrics already posted, to add:

So anytime somebody needs ya

don't let them down, although it grieves ya

Someday you'll need someone like they do

lookin' for what you knew....Friends

(Have you seen the bridge?)

I ain't seen the bridge!

(Where's that confounded bridge?) .....The Crunge

Why don't you take a good look at yourself and describe what you see,

and baby, baby, baby, do you like it?.....Misty Mountain Hop

Ride a white mare in the footsteps of dawn,

Tryin' to find a woman whos never, never, never been born

It's lonely at the bottom.

Man it's dizzy at the top.

And when you're standing in the middle, ain't no way you're going to stop.

How true it is!

St. peter at the gates of heaven, wont you let me in?

and

I received a message from my brother across the water

He sat laughin' as he wrote the ends in sight

So I said goodbye to all my friends

And packed my hopes inside a matchbox

cause I know its time to fly

and

Wheres that confounded bridge?

Sorry for resurrecting an old thread but these days, with big brother seeming to get more and more into everyone's business, these words really ring a big bell for me.

So I'm packing my bags for the Misty Mountains
Where the spirits go now,
Over the hills where the spirits fly

Hours, hours, and the moments in between, Oh, baby, I couldn't count the times

Thanks for that Slave to Zep, it's been such a busy year that I have not gotten around to the places that I really like being enough, such as here. I hope all is going well for you and yours!

I sometimes mis-hear lyrics, so tell me if this is correct; if so, my favorite lyric excerpt is:

Oh how I worry

Oh how I wonder

I would dearly like to know

how all this squander

of earthly plunder

will leave us anything to show

And our time is nighing

see the candle burning low

is the new world rising

from the shambles of the old?

"Did you ever really need someone, and really need them bad.

Did you really want somebody, the best love you ever had.

Do you ever remember baby, did it feel so good?

Cause it was just the first time, and you knew you would."

Robert Plant's a goddamned lyrical genius.

Also, this isn't quite that lyrical and I don't know why I love this lyric so much but

"Vixen in my dreams, great suprise to me"

Ramble On

Ramble On, And now's the time, the time is now, to sing my song.
I'm goin' 'round the world, I got to find my girl, on my way.
I've been this way ten years to the day, Ramble On,
Gotta find the queen of all my dreams.

My favourite Zepp Lyrics

Many dreams come true and some have silver lining, I live for my dream and a pocketful of gold.

And also---

Many is a word that only leaves you guessing

Guessing 'bout a thing you really ought to know.

OTHAFA is just my all around favourite Zepp tune.

OTHAFA is just my all around favourite Zepp tune.

Mine too. :)

Like Wonderguard, I love "many times I've wondered how much there is to know". Very simple yet powerful statement, and perfectly describes my approach to life.

Robert Plant's a goddamned lyrical genius.
