LordStanley Posted April 15, 2015 Share Posted April 15, 2015 I had heard that some people were having this problem with the vinyl format and seemed to be blaming it on a pressing defect. I guess that wouldn't be the case if some digital versions are having the same issue. I'm not sure that I noticed the distortion on my vinyl or 24/96 download. Does anybody else also hear distortion on the very beginning of hats of to harper, or during the d-chord climb just before the solo on stairway to heaven? I believe that distortion at the beginning of Hats Off was always there, I'd have to dig out my old copy to compare, but here is what I am assuming is a previous remaster, uploaded 6 years ago.
