My tastes and decor lean toward a combination of late Victorian / Edwardian combined with what I would call "witchy." Colors of deep greens, maroon, scarlet, plumb, brown, and dark blue. Think Aleister Crawley meets Sherlock Holmes meets Stevie Nicks. Lots or religious and historic iconography accented by art by the Italian & Dutch masters, with some Gustav Klimt and Hieronymus Bosch thrown in for good measure. And no Hentai to be seen anywhere. When I was in high school my friend's older brother decorated their basement in all the devil stuff and Black sabbath posters and those black lights so yours reminds me of that. We used to do that ouji board thing for fun until his mother found out and then he had to take all of that stuff down. Where do you buy your stuff? I see the elephant indian at a antique shop downtown some people really like that stuff. The only thing I have that is spiritual is a dream catcher that my neice got me for my birthday. I always have to remember to put it out when she comes so not to hurt her feelings. you have nice things. And I like Steves christmas stuff too. Also many weird stuff can be found on flea markets, second hand shops, and on travels. It seems that the wooden devil's head was made by a tribe of headhunters from the Philippines. chillumpuffer Posted November 18, 2016 Share Posted November 18, 2016 Our tastes are very minimal these days. Clean lines and reclaimed furniture. Gone is the hippy stuff so beloved of my earlier years Mrs CP has an excellent eye and she always says "it's about the lighting". Soft colours on the walls ( no wallpaper) and candles for that cosy effect especially with a wood burning stove. We only have a carpet on the stairs, for safety purposes, with original floor boards and tiles. No curtains either weirdly enough, plantation shutters and blinds for the windows. We live in an old stone cottage and clutter only makes it feel small. Of course we have Indian Daities that we have collected and my office in the loft has my old tickets and posters. I forgot to add yesterday, that I love so many of those artifacts that you have on display, especially these: I wanted this exact shade of purple for my room! But my mom flipped her wig and begged me to settle for a lighter shade! This artifact is gorgeous and historical! I can look at it for hours! Also, love the aqua blue wall paint! Thanks for sharing! More or less everything has been picked by my Mrs. The bedroom is where you see more of my things. All the cds. I have 1 wall. I have got a Everton calendar up. A few Maiden postcards. I've heard that there is a hotel in London that says it has hot and cold running water but I don't believe it. Yes, more commonly known as pan on the stove, we recently had ours converted to run on butane gas, no more having to chop wood in the cold of winter. It's more about cool water here. Luckily our aquifer is so close to the surface, we don't have to dig too deep to get some. The golf courses' fertilizer makes it have a good taste and color though.
