Concerts I saw from the Rolling Stone list:

Only two:

1975-76 | NORTH AMERICAN TOUR | BOB DYLAN

1984-85 | ‘PURPLE RAIN’ TOUR | PRINCE

Sorry to see that no ELP tour or concert had room to be on that list.

I would have put Alice Cooper ~ 1972 Killer Tour on there bumping Beyonce, of course! :P

Well, I didn't see anything before 1972. As for the rest of the list...

Saw the Stones in '72. Definitely worthy of being on the list.

Saw Bowie's Ziggy show in '72 and '73. Worthy.

I saw Van the Man at the Forum...but I can't remember if it was '73 or '74. It was a great show for sure...worthy of the list.

I did not see Patti Smith in 1975 and never at CBGBs. Did not see Patti until '76 or '77 at the earliest.

Saw Bob Marley in 1975...not at the Lyceum but at the Roxy in Hollywood. Worthy.

Did not see Bob Dylan in 1975 on the Rolling Thunder tour. Strange fact about that tour...apart from a pre-tour warmup at the Troubadour, there were no L.A. dates.

No Grateful Dead in '77. Saw them other years.

No Ramones European tour in '77...but I saw them at the Roxy in '76 and at the Whisky in '77. Worthy.

Saw the Eagles "Hotel California" tour. Nothing special, in my opinion. On the bubble.

Saw Bruce Springsteen in '78. Hella worthy.

Saw the Clash in '79. Worthy.

Saw Pink Floyd "The Wall" show twice at the Sports Arena in '80. Worthy for the grandeur and special effects of the production...it raised the bar for concert production values. But my favourite Pink Floyd concert is still the '72 Hollywood Bowl show.

Saw the Talking Heads in 1983...the shows Demme filmed for "Stop Making Sense". Absolutely worthy. One of the few bands left that I would pay to see reunite.

Did not go to Glastonbury in 1984. But I did see Fela Kuti elsewhere. Worthy.

Saw the Prince "Purple Rain" tour. Worthy.

Saw Run-DMC "Raising Hell" in 1986. Worthy.

Saw Metallica in 1988 when they destroyed Kingdom Come, Dokken, Scorpions, Van Hagar...and the L.A. Coliseum in the process. Worthy indeed. But I would put their "Master of Puppets" tour, when Cliff Burton was still alive, on the list ahead of this.

Saw Madonna on the Blonde Ambition tour in '90. Hmmm...it is between this and the 2001 Drowned tour as to which Madonna tour I would put on the list.

Saw Public Enemy in 1990. Worthy.

I did not see the Sonic Youth/Nirvana 1991 European Summer tour that Rolling Stone lists. But I did see them together in the summer of 1990 at the Hollywood Palladium. STP and Nirvana opened for Sonic Youth. I can barely remember STP's and Nirvana's sets...I was there mainly to see Sonic Youth. Sonic Youth was worthy but Nirvana didn't impress me. I guess RS has their 1991 Summer Tour on the list for social impact reasons...but I always felt grunge was overrated, anyway.

I saw U2's Zoo TV tour. A multi-textural and sensory extravaganza. Worthy.

I did not see Radiohead at Glastonbury in 1997. But I did see them in 1997 and 1998 on their long "OK Computer" tour. The 1998 show at the Universal Amphitheatre with Spiritualized opening is one of my favourite concerts of my life. Worthy.

Saw Sleater-Kinney in 1997. Eh, they were good but I preferred L7. Best Sleater-Kinney show I ever saw was in 2005 or so, for the "Woods" tour. The 1997 tour would not make the list for me.

Did not see Pearl Jam in 1998. Saw them other years. Their music is blah to me.

Did not see Phish at Big Cypress in 1999. Saw them other years. Only one of their shows...the Greek in 1998...really impressed me. Not worthy.

Did not see the specific Brian Wilson show at the Royal Festival Hall in 2004 that RS mentions. But I did see Brian Wilson on that tour in 2004. In fact, since seeing his rebirth and comeback at the Roxy in 1999, I have not missed a Brian Wilson tour in L.A. Worthy.

Saw Daft Punk at Coachella that tour. Worthy...but on the bubble.

Saw Leonard Cohen. Worthy.

Did not see the 2009 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame concert...at least not in person. Typical self-serving nonsense by RS.

Did not see LCD Soundsystem at MSG in 2011. Saw them other places and other years. Meh...probably wouldn't make my list.

Did not see Jay-Z and Kanye West on that combo tour in 2012. Saw them separately on their own in different years.

Did not see Fleetwood Mac in 2014. Saw them in the 1970s and their first reunion in the 1990s, that's all.

Did not see Taylor Swift.

Did not see Beyonce.

Where was the Spice Girls tour? ?

Oh and some 'other' band(s)....

to be sure

growing up in a smaller market turned out to be a blessing we were not inundated with the continual fleecing of the same bands returning for an "encore" performance every 4-6 months

it was nice seeing Leon Russell every Friday and Saturday. On Thursday's his guests that would drop in and that was special. Watching Leon, Clapton, JJ Cale, Elton belt out '50s standards was a luxury even if it was only for a song or two.  Leon playing piano solo for about 16bars as an intro to Lay Down Sally the first time it was played in public was killer we thought they were covering a song no one knew. Turns out... we heard it on the radio on the way home. "Didn't we just hear that...?" To me the most memorable friend that dropped in was Al Jarreau. That man had a lot of what no one else had.

Anytime the news rag of Babylon (Rolling Stone magazine) chirps out "iconic" "greatest" "______ of all time" that is a marketing intern being told by the circulation department what to push

Just noticed, where they talk about a Metallica tour, the picture right next to it, is a bi picture of Madonna - Shoot Me Now !!!

At least that's better than that mug Harry Styles they put on the cover. One of the most annoying singers in the current crop of crap singers. The way he mewls his mouth into horrific shapes while "singing" makes me want to punch him in the face.
