Riffs that sound like Zeppelin but aren't

21 posts in this topic

Just a fun thread for riffs that make you think Zep but are actually other artists, to start off

Lenny Kravitz - Rock and roll is dead

Stone Roses - Driving South

Think it's fair to say both were inspired by listening to Zeppelin....!

Any others?

These two Gov't Mule tunes sound like Physical Graffiti out takes!

Lola Leave Your Light On

Streamline Woman

The intro to Lola leave your light on sounds like a tuned down Custard Pie. I like this band!

When this first came out I thought now there is a Zeppelin riff.

I always dreamed of Jimmy playing a series of gigs with Big Wreck (like he did years ago with The Black Crowes).

Thanks The Rover 75 (Rival Sons) and BUK (Big Wreck) for expanding my music education.  Never listened to either before.......but I'll invest time in them now!  Thank you!

DEAR LORD!!! My fantasy for years! Ian is a BLISTERING and DYNAMIC player and has written new songs for Jimmy, for years! Ha!

VERY Pagian power too!

Tasty slide player too...

Too much? Hahah!

I saw Big Wreck June 15, of 2001 at the Elbow Room in Columbia, SC. I was hooked the very first time I heard their first album in 1997.

And this one always reminds me of For Your Life, both musically and lyrically

If you listen to the riff that starts at around 3 minutes and 14 seconds into the song, you might get a Jimmy Page sort of vibe! B)
