MadScreamingGallery
NO MORE LED IN OUR PENCILS 25th November 2007 http://www.dailystar.co.uk/news/view/22096...in-our-pencils/ By Rick Lyons SORRY girls... but the last thing Led Zeppelin want is a Whole Lotta Love. They’ve ordered staff at London’s O2 Arena to keep groupies at bay. The band play a reunion gig there on December 10 but it appears their hellraising days are behind them. An insider said: “The gig is one of their most important ever and they don’t want any distractions. “They are all married or in relationships but they understand there are plenty of women who would want to get them in the sack backstage. “The roadies and security staff have been warned not to let any of these women near them.” Led Zeppelin bedded thousands of groupies between them in the Sixties and Seventies. One incident in 1969 involving a girl and a shark – which can’t be detailed on a family website – is one of the wildest examples of rock excess. But now singer Robert Plant, 59, Jimmy Page, 63, John Paul Jones, 61, and drummer John Bonham’s son Jason, 41, want a quieter life as they prepare for their historic reunion gig. The insider added: “They are sounding magnificent. The show will be one of the best rock events ever.” It works both ways: a lot of the girls from back in the day don't want any more "led from their pencils" - like the band members, they want a "quieter life" and are "married or in relationships". Speaking of which, back in their "hellraising days", the band members were "married or in relationships".

fenderguy
I love the last line in the article: The insider added: “They are sounding magnificent. The show will be one of the best rock events ever.” I think the audience response to the show is going to overwhelm the band members!!! Then hopefully a 2008 tour will come to a stadium near you!! fenderguy
No more groupies for Jimmy Page? This is an Outrage! I don't think he could sustain that old lifestyle now----unless he wants to be a poster boy for Viagra!!! Seriously, I think this event is all about the music. Plus, I don't think they ever did much naughty stuff in the U.K. anyways.

Page
Great article! I hope the security staff will hold the women away from me as well since I'm also married. Would sure be nice to "slip in" back stage with the guys and have a drink. Now that we know women won't be allowed back stage, maybe us fellas could make try. And by that you mean.....specifically....what? Please do tell more. Because apparently us girls are useless to them. I'm beginning to find this thread very intriguing. I'm beginning to find this thread very intriguing. It's all about politics now. If they don't let guys sneek in backstage they'll get sued for discrimination. It is under the forums/photos section collectibles/bar.Best rock movie ever filmed. I agree, It does capture the era of music far better then any other film IMO. Not to mention it's dripping with accounts of Led Zeppelin, which makes it that much more enjoyable.

manderlyh
I have talked about the groupie thing with my friends that live here plenty of times. I wouldn't try to be a groupie. I'd be happy that I got tickets.

So yeah no good looking ladies are allowed backstage, only the unattractive ones so there are no temptations.
SunChild
It works both ways: a lot of the girls from back in the day don't want any more "led from their pencils" - like the band members, they want a "quieter life" and are "married or in relationships". Speaking of which, back in their "hellraising days", the band members were "married or in relationships". Excellent points. It's amazing how long it takes (some) men to, you know, grow up. Often by their late 50s or early 60s, suddenly dawns a light, it seems.
