Can anyone help ? I have a copy of a first issue with the Turquoise sleeve It has A1 B1 matrix uncorrected .On side one it has the superhype  miscredit with jewel music and on side 2 track 2 black mountain side is virtually touching track 1 your time is gonna come. The sleeve has the grey stripe at the bottom .It has the right patina but has a spine split and damp damage to the bottom right. The LZ logo on the front is the correct colour but is embossed. Has anyone else come across an embossed logo ? Everything about this seems right so wonder how rare this is .Am sure it is not a fake.

I've never seen an embossed logo, that doesn't mean there isn't one. Not sure about the Turquoise having the grey strip either, my red/orange one does. Couldn't say for sure it's fake but my money would be on that it is.

I guess that is why Led Zeppelin loved America so much.  They were huge here.  Accepted from the jump.  Best band to ever walk the Earth.  Ill put the Eagles and Pink Floyd and the Who right behind them.  The Stones have made a mockery of themselves going out and selling tickets to see some old skeletons play songs made 60 years ago.   Keith Richads is a real dick with his stupid comments. He wish's he could play like Jimmy.  So STH is so epic and such a signature lead solo, its simply mind blowing to have written suck solo's like that and Whole Lotta Love and Ten Years Gone and I could go on an on.

Zeppelin are always going to be "TBBA" (the best band ever) on a Zeppelin forum, of course I have all their albums, Vinyl and CDs multiple times, every album at least twice, DVDs and Biu-rays too. Same with The Who and Pink Floyd, everything multiple times, same with many Stones albums, don't have their complete catalouge though. Keef is cool, opiniated, yeah, an idiot, no. I have a few Eagles albums, back in the mid seventies the guitar solo from "One of These Nights" had many repeated plays.

My all time favourite act by a LONG WAY is JImi Hendrix, everything else, even things I love fall someway behind.

You do realize I was joking, yeah? And yeah, I feel same way about the term best, music is subjective.

Thought so, one never knows with keyboards. Even emos don't always help. Not that you used one.

Slack-jawed, clutches pearls, drops recorder in lap, hitting startled cat that jumps off lap. How DARE you ..?!!

Picks up recorder and starts playing again.

Jk. Obviously. Showing my age a bit here, but they actually made all the kids play recorders when I was in third grade. 😂 Music appreciation or something.

I dare, nothing wrong with that we all have our own favourites (I hate the term best). Anyway, they were only played by girls in my Junior School, when I went to "high school", Boys only we didn't do music as in playing instruments. I believe that did change after I left in 1972.

So that means you never heard the best guitar solo ever done on studio for a long time either

Don't know about STH solo being the best, it's not too shabby though, but yeah, a while before I heard it. Like I said. that recorder, only girls played recorders. Sorry ladies.

    Bath 1970.

Near as I can tell here is where this stands.

Dave Lewis questioned a Professor Chibnall in 2017 about the status of the Peter Whitehead film. "There’s 20 to 30 minutes and a lot of it is backstage. I’ve only seen the footage, I haven’t seen it with sound...when Led Zeppelin played, they played in the dark and there was insufficient stage lighting for (Whitehead's) cameras. So he reckoned that the footage, the live footage, was not usable. It is usable because, I mean, it can be, it can be restored now. So you can raise those lighting levels, you can see more digitally...I think it would be a really good project for 2020." Yes, he said 2020.

Seems a ripe journalistic endeavor to follow up with Chibnall.

My "Pace" poster of the band on stage at Bath that I had on my bedroom wall showed daylight through the back curtain, probably a plc taken early in the set.

  7. Needed some blank DVDs so went to Argos it's one of those places where you look up your item on a touch screen. Found what I wanted, 25 disc spindle screen states item in stock, so made payment and went to collection point. After a bit of a wait  shop assistant turns up with a 50 disc spindle, the 25 disc was actually out of stock so I got the 50 discs at no extra cost, Put a smile on my face.

I NEVER would imagine anyone shrugging Stairway to Heaven.  My all time favorite song, I have it in my will to have it played at my funeral, and my daughters will do it, for sure. Imagine that at a Catholic church.  Oh yeah and I specified it must be Led Zeppelin.  Not some organist that stumbles through it.  Is the best song of all time and it usually wins pretty much every song contest on radio stations across America. Hotel California is likely number two very often.  Another fantastic song.

First few times I heard STH I didn't get more than a minute into it. A RECORDER, you have to be joking, it was a while before I heard the whole thing. I prefer the SRTS (76 mix) live version to the studio though.

    Hi all

I just won a bid for ITTOD on ebay, and the vinyl (which btw was graded EX by the seller but wasn't ever GOOD) came without cover, just the inner sleeve and the brown paper bag. I complained and the seller replied that it's one of the first pressings which came without cover. I didn't believe that and also couldn't find any confirmation of the seller's claim. Can anybody please comment on this.

    Cheers

    D.

Oh mate, you have been royally ripped off, taken for a "Schmuck". As it's eBay make a complaint you will get your money back, probably get to keep the LP too.

In the UK, Alan Freeman (who introduced the band at Earls Court) , had a Saturday afternoon rock show on BBC Radio 1. I clearly remember him playing Nobody's Fault But Mine and Achilles Last Stand before the album came out. I used to record the show so would have it taped. Great show it was. Not arf'

What great radio we had back then Tommy Vance on Friday nights, Fluff on Saturday afternoons, In Concert Saturday evening, Peel from 10pm Monday to Thursday. As for Presence it was either Fluff or TV that played the whole album, put me off buying it for a long tilme, didn't like what I heard. It's always been my seventh favourite Zeppelin album.
