  1. Jones didn't really have that much to say about it in the book. JPJ: “That was my third bass. It was a five-string and the ugliest bass guitar in the world, it was horrible but it had a high fifth string and I got into it for a while but it was unbalanced and I don’t know if it even sounded that good. It was ugly, I couldn’t go on stage with it anymore”.

Hey Hey What Can I Do?

They should have put this song on (the 1st edition of Coda). Not only would it have increased the album's duration in minutes, it would have increased the album's sales. The song was very popular on the radio and was only available (for purchase) on the B-side of the "Immigrant Song" 45 rpm. I remember Zep releasing it as a cassette single in 1990. I still have it somewhere.

Where can I found this shirt?

Well there's one on ebay for $2000.00 !!! I'm sure a replica can be found for cheaper someplace. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Led-Zeppelin-Shirt-Vintage-1975-North-American-Tour-Rare-70s-Hanes-Tag-/351905671363?hash=item51ef3668c3:g:EmEAAOSwFqJWquWZ
  7. I heard this for the first time today. Not too bad!
  8. Evidently Phil Collins has a new autobiography coming out where he states he's not the one to blame for Zeppelin's Live Aid performance: http://teamrock.com/feature/2016-10-20/phil-collins-why-im-not-to-blame-for-led-zeppelins-live-aid-fiasco http://www.telegraph.co.uk/music/artists/phil-collins-interview-robert-plant-mixed-with-led-zeppelin-make/

Robert Plant Performing at Bill Wyman 80th Birthday Concert

No video yet but here's the audio:
  10. One thing I don't like is John Paul Jones using the Alembic bass for "The Song Remains the Same" on the '77 and '79 tours. That Alembic bass sounds like it has rubber-bands for strings. Don't mind it being used on other songs (I kind of like it on Heartbreaker myself) but it just doesn't work on TSRTS. Maybe there's a good bootleg version with it out there but I haven't heard it.
  11. No hatred but it was just too weak. I appreciate the album now but not particularly at the tme. You've got to remember that their last album prior to that was "Presence" (not counting "The Song Remains The Same") and probably anything they would have released after that would have been considered "soft"! Also between 1976 and 1979 the music world was bombarded by disco and most of us rockers were dying to hear some hard rock, especially LZ! I'm glad we had AC/DC (Highway to Hell, and the Eagles (The Long Run") but we waited 3 long years (seemd like and eternity) for some Zeppelin! So then the long anticipaed ITTOD came out and we were treated to the likes of "Hot Dog" (an embarresment in my opinion) and "All of My Love". It was kind of a dissapointment. In my personall opinion I think if they included "Wearing and Tearing" and dropped "Hot Dog" and "Southbound Saurez" (if they needed room) the album wouldn't have been so 'hated' by some hardcore fans.

Always good to see JPJ do one-off appearances like these! I wish Jimmy would do the same!

Hey Hey What Can I Do

HHWCID should have been on Coda. I was really surprised that it was not, I think that song alone would have really increased that album's sales. I remember lots of radio stations playing it in the early 80's (when Coda came out) like it was some lost LZ song that had just been dug up (even though all of us die-hard fans knew it was on the back side of the Immigrant Song 45 released some 10 years earlier)!

    Live Carosuelambra

If this guy can do the whole song in it's entirety on an acoustic guitar certainly Zep could have done it live!

    Oakland 1977 video comparison

Wow! This is the first video I've seen of the Oakland shows besides the short 8mm film in the videos section of this webpage. Does someone have the full July 23rd show on video now? I need to get it as this was the only time I got to see LZ. I've got the audio but a video would be great!.

    CODA

I've always wondered why "Hey Hey What Can I Do" wasn't included on Coda since it wasn't released on any previous albums. It would have increased the relativley short length of the album and surely would have increased it's sales.

    NBA Playoff Music

Everyone can relax. If you look at the time stamp on this video it is from last year's NBA Playoffs (2011). I doubt if they replay this for this years playoffs.
  23. There are about a dozen pictures from the Oakland '77 shows in the article that I've never seen before. Nice!
  24. Haven't seen anyone post this yet, but evidently Phil Collins wanted to walk away from the Live Aid Reunion mid-set! Too bad he didn't!! http://www.contactmusic.com/news.nsf/story/collins-i-wanted-to-walk-away-from-led-zeppelin-live-aid-show_1159320
