  1. Helsinki 1970 - new photos

A couple of new colour fan photos from Helsinki 1970 http://www.ledzeppelin.com/show/february-23-1970
  2. First off I'd like to say I am new to the forum and this is my first post, and this question was obviously asked before but, What is your favorite Led Zeppelin year? And why is it? Whether its album releases or live performances. - My favorite year is 1972. Not only Roberts vocals hitting his peak, but Jimmy's live tone was just magnificent. And the recorded audio is very clean. Their performances had many songs from my favorite album "Houses of the Holy". And not to mention it had some of Jimmy Page's beard in that year I believe.
  3. So I'm sitting here(almost 3am) and I realize! It's the 44th anniversary for my all time favorite show! It might be slightly overshadowed by the show 15 days before, certainly helped by the early release and sound quality of Live on Blueberry Hill but no matter how better the recording is it can never surpass the MASTODONT performance that the evening show at MSG is, 140 minutes long(in 1970!!), 16 songs(two of which are 20 minute+ medleys. The only thing better than the setlist is the performace, it's as close to perfect as it gets, every solo is on fire, Plant is at is all time best(at least for me) It's almost like Jimi Hendrix's energy passed over to Zep on that night, they just played their asses of for the whole thing...... Brown nosing over So what do you all think, first time you heard it? Any stories? Favorite moment? Anything and everything about this show, just post away!
  4. This is a very debatable topic, but I'd like to state my opinion anyways, I even have proof to back up my theory, but it's just my opinion, you could think whatever you want and I'm cool with it. I think that the tape didn't run out during Heartbreaker, but somewhere during here: Long Tall Sally During 2:38, the audio goes from a multitrack tape to a more distant audience-sounding-ish tape (it's most likely to come from the cameras), therefore I think the tape ran out during the performance of Long Tall Sally and not Heartbreaker, and this is also one of the few reasons this wasn't included in the DVD. So, this solved one question for me, but there is another that is still in my head right now, where there hell is the rest of Heartbreaker from the Royal Albert Hall?!
  5. Good late '70-72 recordings?

Pretty much what the topic says, good recording from that period(late '70 because I prefer those shows with the acoustic sets that aren't in the early ones) I have most of the available soundboard recordings so good audience ones are preferred, as a reference 1972/10/9 is what I'd consider a good audience recording from that period. So any good ones?
  6. John Paul Jones' '53 Precision Bass Pictures?

I need more pictures of this bass: I'm making a replica, but 10 pictures isn't enough. I need closeups. I know you guys have pictures, I just know it. Want to help me out?
