BUCK'EYE' DOC
Very strange Sam but nothing shows up except the word posted image - don't know if it's just me or not! Same here, no photo. Edited to say: There is a jpg photo in the "JP - Mojo Upcoming Cover Story" thread. It looks great! Can't wait to read it! Thanks Sam! Looks like the problem is fixed! Thanks, again! Edited December 27, 2009 by BUCK'EYE' DOC
Deborah J
http://www.nytimes.com/2009/12/27/books/review/Moody-t.html I haven't read Wall's book, is it really all about the scandals and very little about the music? If so, I appreciate the reviewers point in the last two paragraphs, but why does he bring up the same old stories again? Is it me or are we becoming more prudish? Hello Janet! I have not starting reading this one yet. I am close to a complete read of Cross's -Shadows Taller Than Our Souls. As soon as I am done with that one I will start on this one and get back to you. Deborah J
Has anyone bought or read this? Just wondering if it's any good. Looks quite smart, i like all the pully-outy bits and thought it might make a nice Christmas present. Hello Mr E, I just did the complete read and as a long time time fan, nothing new. The photos are great and the press releases, pull outs, etc are nice. But I was not overly impressed. In the preface he did state that the best way to experience the book would be to play the corresponding album while reading each chapter. And he did have a great take on the media's response to LZ. However, there were a few comments that did not need to be part of the book. My next read is When Giants Walked The Earth by Mick Wall. Led Zep Gurl
Has anyone bought or read this? Just wondering if it's any good. Looks quite smart, i like all the pully-outy bits and thought it might make a nice Christmas present. Just bought this book on Monday, it was 1/2 off at Barnes and Nobel so I decided to go ahead and purchase it due to that. Haven't started reading it yet, right now I am re-reading Mick Wall's WGWTE book. I have heard Shadows doesn't have much new stuff in it that most of us Zep fans don't already know but went ahead and bought it anyways. Led Zep Gurl
I finally filled in some gaps in the bookshelf section of the collection. In addition to picking up Mick Wall's book, Alan Clayson's Origin's book, I also picked up these three books: Robert www.behindthetoys.com Almost bought the LZ Illustrated bio book yesterday but ended up buying the LZ Philosophy one instead. Looks like I will be busy reading about Zep in the new year! I am re-reading Mick Wall's book right now and then have the Shadows Taller Than Our Souls book and the LZ Philosophy book to read after that! It's not a bad book - I like all the pictures and pull-out bits of memorabilia but there was nothing new really. Considering it was supposed to be about the music I thought it could have gone into much more detail about the making of each song. Achilles Last Stand
I read an interview with Mick Wall about When Giants... and his answers were, "It's in the book". Personally, I choose not to read any Led Zep book until the band release one. Jimmy Page is in Mojo this month, and we all know about his new photoautobiography; but he also said about releasing a posthumous book, but I hope thats not for another 66 years
