Oh i could not agree more about the- Extended weekend. But absolutely no household chores have been done this last couple of days. The house looks like we have been burgled tbh. So we all agreed it is going to be a full day of tidying it up on Monday. And getting old clothes and toys together to donate to charity. So maybe the extra day will not be too good this time around.

Got my friend's old Ford diesel tractor fired up along with the riding mower to begin mowing and trimming on his 4 acres for $10 an hour. Easy work. :)

Two years ago, during my final year at high school my Professor of philosophy ask us who was our favourite musician, my turn arrived and I said Jimmy page, she said "Led zeppelin ?" I said "yes", and she replied "Best band ever right ?" :D She was a fairly good teacher but our class was shit.

Let me guess, you are from Europe? Private school? They do not teach philosophy in HS in the states, not even as an elective at public schools. Professors are also usually employed at the college level and mostly grad school at that in the US.

France, and no I was in a public high school, philosophy is mandatory in high school here, at least in the main study "path", 2 hours/Week if you choose scientific specialisation, 4 hours if you choose  economic/social and 8h in literature. I believe the education system in France is pretty damn good, the issue is the parents who educate their children like shit, no good manners at all for some students .. I have a lot of respect for teachers (except the one who really don't give a damn about anything) but still I wouldn't be lacking respect for them.

Yes, the social graces, or lack  thereof, are suffered everywhere but the education system itself in France is magnifique !!!

In the States, its pretty much shit. Had a friend who emigrated here from France when she was in 9th grade. They gave her a choice, either go into the 12th grade (she was 14) or sit out two or three years. She went into 12th grade and still did  better and had higher marks then just about everyone else in 12th grade. She graduated at 15.

Good for you. I studied philosophy extensively in university and loved every minute of it. Up until the 1950's, philosophy, rhetoric, and Latin were all required subjects in HS in the US. How far we have fallen.

There is a Bewitched box set that I am just longing to buy! To me, this box set is almost perfect. I used the phrase almost perfect, as this box set contains episodes from seasons 6, 7 and 8.

If you told Paul Carruthers he could not listen to Rush for a week, and Sathington Willoughby no Primus for a week, which one would be the first to crack?

Fortunately Primus are playing new material live since yesterday, so it should be a while before I crack. ;)
