Masters of War!!

Excellent!

But frack! What I really want it to be is a Dylan trivia question thread. I can't think of a more important subject to discuss than Dylan trivia. Can I edit the thread title?

I'll just DIE if I can't!

So post Dylan trivia for people to guess. Or lyrics and guess the songs.

Trivia question:

In the Don Maclean song "American Pie," which character is supposed to represent Dylan?

YAY!

I think it's the jester who stole His thorny crown...

Just fits, is all...

Song title to guess from lyric:

Tell me great hero

But please make it brief

Is there a hole

For me to get sick in?

Oh man!

I haven't had this much fun since I snorted a bunch of crushed-up Quaaludes when I was 17 and listened to the Dixie Dregs Cruise Control over and over again.

"Hey TD, what's up?"

10 minutes later...

"Oh, you know, not much man. What's up with you?"

That's him.

What Denzel Washington film takes it name from the title of a Dylan song?

"Hurricane"

And, when I was through

I filled up my shoe

And brought it to you.

And you, you took me in,

You loved me then

You didn't waste time.

And I, I never took much,

I never asked for your crutch.

Now don't ask for mine.

Changing of the Guards

The flowers of the city

Though breath-like

Get death-like sometimes

And there's no use in tryin'

To deal with the dyin'

Though I cannot explain that in lines

To Ramona. :)

Some of my favorite Dylan lyrics:

When you asked how I was doing

Was that some kind of joke?

All these people that you mention

Yes, I know them, they're quite lame

I had to rearrange their faces

And give them all another name

Tombstone Blues !!

This is from a recent 'remake', one of my favorite releases this year....you know who it was TD...:D

The cold-blooded moon.

The captain waits above the celebration

Sending his thoughts to a beloved maid

Whose ebony face is beyond communication.

The captain is down but still believing that his love will be repaid.

I DON'T know who it was!!! Throw me a fricken bone man!!

Tombstone Blues!

I can still hear the sounds of those Methodist bells,

I'd taken the cure and had just gotten through,

Stayin' up for days in the Chelsea Hotel,

Writin' "Sad-Eyed Lady of the Lowlands" for you.

Sara.

And you're so kind

And careful not to go to her too soon

And she takes your voice

And leaves you howling at the moon

Hint: the last verse of this song was our mantra at the end of our Zep days.

Just Like Tom Thumb Blues

And I hope that you die

And your death will come soon

I'll follow your casket

In the pale afternoon

I'll watch while you're lowered

Down to your death bed

And I'll stand over your grave

'Til I'm sure that you're dead
