Hello forum friends!

Just wanted to drop a line and say I miss so many of you. The job was supposed to end and the Tuesday prior to what was going to be my last day they came to me and asked me to come back until April 15 with a possible extention until April 30th. They knew I needed a break so I was able to go back home for almost a week. I guess they liked my work.

The people are so kind to me that I could not say no. The Hilton I am working for right now has just upgraded their new system so I am training the sales team and inputting the information (accounts) from the old system to the new system. It is a system I have worked with in the past.

I hope all of you are doing well and I really do miss being here. I also plan on meeting up with Stargroves Tangie  the weekend of April 8th. It will be so nice to see her again if we can make it work. We had such a good time when we went to see Jimmy at the Y2 back in Nov 2014:-)

Take care everyone and be kind to one another....and represent Led Zeppelin in the manner they deserve:-) :peace:

"The middle leg!?!"- Robert Plant, May 18,1977.

39 short years ago at this precise time, I was in downtown Birmingham, soon to enter the Jefferson County coliseum to experience a night with Led Zeppelin.
The recipe could not have been more perfect: I'm 18 years old, soon to be released from High School, and Led Zeppelin were at their summit. This was the end of an era for me, and soon for Led Zeppelin as well.

Much thanks to Conneyfogle for creating this video at my humble request for the world to enjoy.
Also (I'm biased) one of the top, if not the best live versions of this song I'm familiar with.
A night etched in my being forever.

Is this thread about history or just any topic now?

If you wish it to be about Led Zeppelin History:

August 17, 1969 - Wallingford, CT -

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lXM4DaBkL3U

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d6xvVtI4fRc

AUGUST 17, 1969 - OAKDALE THEATRE, WALLINGFORD, CONNECTICUT (SUNDAY, 8pm)
Support from The Mustard Family. The show was performed on a revolving stage, resulting in very uneven sound.

Recording Includes: The Train Kept A Rollin' [ cut ] >> I Can't Quit You Baby.
Source: Incomplete fair audience recording. 8 minutes.
Details: A distorted and very distant tape.

Bootleg CD Reference(s): Anybody Got A Les Paul? (Equinox), Red Snapper Deluxe (Balboa Productions), & Tales From '69 (Tarantura)

Comments: This is all that exists from this show ... I heard that the taper stored it for years in bad conditions and this is the only undamaged part of the tape. A very powerful fragment and it leads me to believe the rest of the show was equally powerful and exciting.

AUGUST 17, 1970 - HAMPTON COLISEUM, HAMPTON BEACH, VIRGINIA (MONDAY)

Recording Includes: Immigrant Song >> Heartbreaker (<< Bouree..), Dazed And Confused, Bring It On Home, That's The Way, Bron-Yr-Aur, [ cut ], Since I've Been Loving You, Organ Solo >> Thank You, What Is And What Should Never Be, Moby Dick, Whole Lotta Love (<< Back In The USA, Boogie Chillun [ cut ], I'm Moving On, CC Rider..), Announcer Speech, Communication Breakdown (<< Good Times Bad Times

AUGUST 17 - HAMPTON COLISEUM, HAMPTON BEACH, VIRGINIA (MONDAY)
The show was rescheduled from August 10, 1970.

Recording Includes: Immigrant Song >> Heartbreaker (<< Bouree..), Dazed And Confused, Bring It On Home, That's The Way, Bron-Yr-Aur, [ cut ], Since I've Been Loving You, Organ Solo >> Thank You, What Is And What Should Never Be, Moby Dick, Whole Lotta Love (<< Back In The USA, Boogie Chillun [ cut ], I'm Moving On, CC Rider..), Announcer Speech, Communication Breakdown (<< Good Times Bad Times..).
Source: Incomplete fair to good audience recording. Almost 122 minutes.
Details: It's distant, overloaded and sometimes barely listenable source with only the voice clear in the general mush. The instruments do clear on occasions but there are some dropouts, volume/channel changes and recorder handling noise in various places. When sound progresses, the hiss is becoming even more annoying.

Bootleg CD Reference(s): Live In Hampton 1970 (The Diagrams Of Led Zeppelin)

Comments: This show varies bewteen great and average. Bron-Yr-Aur is the worst, sounding like Page tuning his guitar for two minutes. However, they do achieve some unique dramatic effects in the early part of Dazed And Confused, and the guitar solo in Since I've Been Loving You is very dramatic. The ending guitar work in Imigrant Song also sounds very unusual.

Couretsy of AA ^^

But basically, (Kipper), a few people participated (trying to fill in) in Deborah J's absence, and people pitched a hissy fit and started a Conspiracy Theory that the thread was trying to be subverted from Deborah J, who didn't even start the thread.

*If anyone wishes to include non-Led Zeppelin shows (as solo shows) please feel free to add.* before I am accused of subverting the thread by the likes of Walter and Ross for a conspiracy.* Otherwise, enjoy some early Led Zeppelin, from August 17th 1969 & 1970!

Trying to find an ally, are you.Your transparency is obvious. There was no conspiracy theory and you threw the hissy fit by slinking away months back when it was made clear what you were trying to do.You attempted to takeover this thread by posting  your own information in a completely different format to the method that Deborah J had followed for a long time and to gain kudos by doing it while Deborah J ,who was the caretaker was away.Let's be clear on this, there are no hard and fast rules about threads taking a different direction but when you ride on someone else's coattails to do it....you can see where I'm going here. And you can't rewrite history,in fact since you didn't learn from it you're doomed to repeat it.

What you call throwing a hissy fit by slinking away months ago, I call a dealing with a family tragedy.

So much for conspiracies, Ross. Have a nice day.

I thought Deborah J has done a smashing job with this thread, and have nothing negative to say about her style of the direction in the way she or anyone wishes to take the thread.

I was just as happy as I could be with the participation she took one of my threads. I wish Deborah J the best and am looking forward to her return.

Welcome back home Deb!

September 4, 1970 is truly a landmark day in Led Zeppelin and rock and roll history. Just a small point of order...Led Zeppelin played their concert at the Forum before heading to the Troubadour to join Fairport Convention, so the Forum show should be listed before the Troubadour. ;)
