Amstel
At least they got #1 right! It's a shame Mitch Mitchell, Carl Palmer, Jimmy Chamberlain, and Ian Paice are regularly ignored when it comes to best drummer lists.
Sue Dounim
Buddy Rich?
chef free
No Bill Bruford? Yes, King Crimson and Genesis! I expect them to all be rock drummers so no Buddy Rich, Gene Krupa or my fav, Jack DeJohnette.
tictac
No Bill Bruford? Yes, King Crimson and Genesis! +1. Where's Bruford? And Carl Palmer? Cozzy Powell?
shnflacwav
Ringo wasn't even the best drummer in The Beatles. Bruford, Palmer, Paice, and Powell are all good candidates. I would add a young Bill Ward, too.
Ross62
Lars Ulrich in front of Mike Portnoy?

Amstel
Lars Ulrich in front of Mike Portnoy? Both are vastly overrated.
Amstel
. I would add a young Bill Ward, too. Exactly Ward very good early on with Black Sabbath. He got worse as Black Sabbath pushed on. Notice how his drum kit was much bigger later on?
Amstel
Mitch Mitchell and Carl Palmer are the biggest omitions from this list.
Ross62
Both are vastly overrated. I've hardly ever seen Lars Ulrich rated in drumming polls or "top" drummers and I can understand why because I don't think he's all that good.Having said that,I still enjoy Metallica's music. Portnoy on the other hand is tight, technical and deserves to be rated highly.
