I keep hearing that the 1977 tour had issues. Just how bad did things get.

The 1977 Led Zeppelin tour of America definitely had issues and ups and downs, however, in did yield one fact that landed Led Zeppelin in the "Guinness Book of World Records". At that time this was the largest audience for a single act in the History of Mankind.

Led Zeppelin performed for 76,229 people at the Silverdome on April 30, 1977 in Pontiac, Michigan.

Insane issues, bad luck and a big mistake by Peter Grant to go hire John Bindon as head of security, all sent the tour in to a vortex, so sad ,for zep fans but the naysayers and distractors let them laugh, zep can hold their heads high and proud of it!!
