Best Of 73' tour

Is audio quality important?  If not, then I recommend Since I've Been Lovingarrow-10x10.png You, No Quarter, Dazed and Confused and Stairway to Heaven from Providence on 21 July 1973.  Sadly we don't have a soundboard but the audience source is decent!

If you're looking for something with better audio than that, Fort Worth on 19 May is held in high regard.

The 2nd leg of the British tour in Jan is somewhat underwhelming, but the first leg in Dec72 is quite excellent, if you're willing to include that, I'd say Manchester and Glasgow, outstanding performances, decent recordings.

For the European tour, Vienna and Offenburg, probably Essen and Hamburg as well, although the Hamburg audience recording is on the poor side (monster performance however).

For the American tours, Salt Lake City and San Diego from the 1st leg (both boards).  The 2nd leg is the best, IMO.  For soundboards, Seattle and the 2nd and 3rd nights in NYC.  For audience, the 2nd night in Chicago, 1st night in Detroit, 1st night in NYC.  Milwaukee is also underrated.

Agreed, Providence is a superb show.

Best of the '73 tour..? That's a little different from '75 & '77 tours as they did like 3 tours in '73 starting with the late '72/early '73 U.K. tour, then the '73 Europe tour, then the '73 U.S. tour.....

Don't forget the rare encore Thank You from either LA 6/3/73 or New York 7/29/73, or Southampton 1/22/73 if you're doing complete '73 tour. But I would reccomend doing a Europe '73 mix and a U.S. '73 mix as there are too many great shows in '73 for only 1.

Seattle 7/17/73 is my favorite show of the '73 U.S. tour and includes a fantastic SIBLY, No Quarter, Rain Song, Dazed And Confused, Whole Lotta Love, and The Ocean.

The suggestions have all been great, but I was kind of looking for individual performances from good audience or soundboard sources.

I can't think of any hotter stretch for Jimmy than the German run.

Offenburg is smoking.

Fair enough, but as already mentioned, you should think about splitting up the different tours as they all have their own character and vibe.  Here's a tentative list:

Celebration Day:  Mobile 5-13, NY 7-28
Black Dog: NY 7-28
OTHAFA:  Milwaukee 7-10, Buffalo 7-15, NY 7-28
MMH:  Offenburg 3-24
SIBLY:  Seattle 7-17, NY 7-28
NQ:  Milwaukee 7-10, Providence 7-21, NY 7-28 & 29

I forgot Seattle 7-17 for D&C.  Might as well add STH from that gig while we're at it.

As far as individual songs go, Communication Breakdown from New Orleans is sizzling.

Sizzling is an understatement...

The greatest performance of Communication Breakdown.

I forgot Seattle 7-17 for D&C.  Might as well add STH from that gig while we're at it.

Recently that is my favorite performance of Dazed And Confused from any year or tour. Seattle '73 was such a laid back and loose performance that included an incredibly fitting atmosphere for this song! I would also include Whole Lotta Love and The Ocean from Seattle '73 as far as suggestions! Phenomenal energy on those 2 songs from the band & audience!

Since I've Been Loving You in Southampton '73 is possibly overall my favorite performance of the song and don't forget How Many More Times and Dancing Days if you have enough room on preferred number of discs. Both great songs!

Good call on Heartbreaker and WLL from Detroit.

I've always loved WLL Houston 5-16, featuring the great 'Goin' Down' cover.

Sorry, I could only find a 2-parter. <_<

I would suggest "Stairway To Heaven" from 7/29 is the one.

I would represent Munich 3/17 with "The Rain Song" plus "Dancing Days" and "Bron-Y-Aur Stomp" as you haven't included them yet.
