Nothing to see here, move on.

Apart from people already creating bullet point lists trying to rationalise why it’s not a totally underwhelming release.

hilarious.

We’ve now got companion mixes to the companion mixes. A portal into a rabbit hole of nothing.

Like the SNL bit about a Time-Life Book series .... but on The Falklands War.

But wait.... now, Time-Life books presents a series .... The Making of the Time-Life Series on The Falklands War...

Further down into the Rabbit Hole...

But seriously, I'd like read extensive information from the band, about the making of their albums. Details... not constructs, or just "one" remembrance.

But, I think for Zeppelin... the "story" is what's found on the albums. Period. "Take it or Leave it."

Exciting and sad at the same time.

I'll more than likely buy it, listen to it at least once, maybe twice and then stick it on the shelf with all the other novelty 45's I've gotten over the years. The only exception would be the LA Woman 45 box set I got from The Doors as part of RSD a few years ago. The 45's in that box set get played quite frequently.

I surely hope this isn't all that going to be released for the 50th anniversary. I know for a fact there is more to release than that.

No this won't be it.  The 50th anniversary celebrations and releases will commence in September.  This one is just for Record Store Day and not part of the 50th.

Yes, that's right. The press release for it specifically says that this RSD single is meant to "whet" fans' appetites before the 50th anniversary commemoration begins in September.

I am, however, hoping that September will mark the release of the first 50th anniversary music, so that we get the announcement of it earlier, like in June or July.

I enjoyed the buzz i got from reading about this, but like the page crowes, in the light marbled vinyl...i would never get it. So my slacker self lets reality be real and i just enjoy the record in imaginary form. I look forward to hearing it on youtube one day.

I wouldn't get your hopes up.

The high standards of the band precludes any performance that falls below their benchmark - in terms of performance and sound - from being released.

I'm not expecting a lot of new live stuff or anything much at all.

I'm more excited about the release of Neil Young's Tonight's the Night Show from 1973 this year, and also the Neil Young vol 2 and the Pink Floyd Middle Years boxsets when they come out.

Both those bands have a lot more recordings and material to play with and seem to embrace the archive format.

I’ll buy it, and I’ll be happy to have it, but really......big whoop.

Please tell us if Stu's piano is 3db higher or lower in the mix. Or maybe the piano is completely missing? 😏

Well, only a week away until RSD.

Curious, does anyone have their eyes on anything (besides the Led Zeppelin release) that they would like to share? I don't know, I am looking over the list trying to decide what interests me. Noticed that there is no indication of how many of the Led Zeppelin 45s will be issued which makes it hard to tell how rare it will be.

I see that 'Pornosonic: Unreleased 70s Porn Music Featuring Ron Jeremy" will be finally released on vinyl! Limited to 500 copies I think.  Wouldn't mind getting that.

My buddies and I have been big RSD fans for a long time. Get up super early, drive to Reckless Records on Broadway in Chicago. Last year we were number 4, 5 and 6 in line. This years list seems to be pretty good. Below are my top picks.

Sundays - Reading, Writing & Math
Courtney Barnett - Sea of Split Peas
Jeff Buckley - Live at Sin-e box
Brian Eno with Kevin Shields - The Weight of History
Uncle Tupelo - No Depression Demos
Wilco - Live
Tia Blake - Demos
Various Artists - Performances from Monterey Pop Fest

The Zeppelin 45 is not on my list because I rarely play 45's and based upon Page's reissues over the last couple of years, I don't think the tracks will be all that interesting. If he were to include false starts, studio chatter, and rehearsals I'd be all over it.
