MLB 2018 Picks Pool

Walter

Recommended Posts

Alright, I’ll count - if you pick.

Rules: By Monday night, April 2nd (which should’ve been Opening Day anyway) pick who you think will win each  division, and two wild card teams from each league. You will earn 1 point per win and, at the end of the season, earn 5 points for each wild card pick and 10 points per division champ you pick. You can still earn 5 points if you pick a division winner who only gets the wild card.

Anyone and everyone are welcome. It’ll be fun!

Thanks Walt, for picking up the slack on this one. Being the "slacker" that I am, I had no friggin' clue the season already started and was going to do this tomorrow. At any rate, here she goes...

NL East - Mets

Central - Cubs

West - G-Men (I hope they don't pummel me like last year)...

Wild Cards - Dodgers, Nats

AL East - The Sawx

Central - Indians

West - Astros

Wild Cards - Detroit, Texas

Thanks Walter!!

@Walter, after spending the weekend at the ballpark, I've decided I don't care if Rick yells at me.  I'm changing my second AL WildCard pick to Sean's team, the Angels.

So there. (And thanks again)

Thanks.  Have not been on much.  Just had a hip replacement and my wife had a detached retina surgery.  Nothing going right and that includes the stinking Orioles

Sorry to hear that man. Hope things look up for you and the Mrs soon. Not the O’s though... ;)

Ha.  Thanks.  Last nights game I loved.  Loved it. Buck Showalter 2  Boone 0.  And even though Tillman has been horrible, its just April and we have a bullpen today.  The Yankees do not.

ps  I realize Yankees have injuries but none are bigger than Trumbo for us.  If we have Trumbo last night that game is over sooner

At the bottom, or near the bottom; I'm not sure what the hell happened, except the G-Men are biting me in the ass like last year. All of my other picks seem kosher. I'm going to fret about this all night, maybe--or the whole month...

Thanks for doing this Walter.  Doesn't look like much fun...

Anything for you, my dear. 😘

I’ve always enjoyed doing baseball statistics as a kid. Not quite the same, but still fun.

It’ll get more interesting at the end of the season when division champs/wild cards are fought out. Such a long haul...

It could be worse.  You could be an Orioles fan.  Mutiny in the club house no doubt.  I have no doubt many of these guys have quit but for Machado and Gausman.  Gausman pitched two gems in a row and gets nothing.   A 9 inning shutout.  And they score a big fat 0.  Only Machado is hitting and playing.  Showalter must be fed up.  I just do not know where the problems started.  They are better than this.  They have been a playoff team 3 of the last 5 years.  Yet here they sit with the same record as the Reds.

Sorry for the delay...had the updated standings on my desk last Friday but left them there. So here are the updated standings as of today:

Strider is still leading at 335 total wins

2. Walter - 334

3. Paplbojo - 331

4. zepscoda - 329

5. ebk - 328

6. Paul - 312

7. Rick - 305

8. Kingzoso - 303

Tight battle, with the top 5 within 7 wins of each other, two months in...plus there will be bonus points awarded for correctly selecting division winners and wild cards.

Game on!
