SteveAJones
On August 16th, 1966 the Yardbirds, moving ever westward on an extensive North American tour, delivered a stand-out performance at a small club in Denver called Hal-Babys. Crystal Palace Guard was the opening act and by the time they'd finished playing, Hal-Babys was packed to its capacity - about 300 - with people anxious to see the Yardbirds new lineup of Beck and Page perform. Jimmy's guitar workings stunned the crowd; Page and drummer Jim McCarty jammed so hard in this sweltering hot little club that McCarty passed out at the end of the show! Hal-Baby's closed its doors for the final time around 1968. A Yardbirds Fan
