For those unaware, the Mercury Prize is a fairly prestigious/highbrow UK prize for best album, irrespective of genres - so it could be rock, indie, jazz, classical etc.

The 2008 albums of the year are:

Adele - 19

British Sea Power - Do You Like Rock Music?

Burial - Untrue

Elbow - The Seldom Seen Kid

Estelle - Shine

Laura Marling - Alas I Cannot Swim

Neon Neon - Stainless Style

Portico Quartet - Knee-Deep in the North Sea

Rachel Unthank & The Winterset - The Bairns

Radiohead - In Rainbows

Robert Plant & Alison Krauss - Raising Sand

The Last Shadow Puppets - The Age of the Understatement

I've tried and tried to get into this album but it's just not my cup of tea - I can't find one song on it I really like. Weird because I like some of Alison's solo stuff and I like most of Plants solo stuff.
