Zeppelin landmarks

I've been all through Epsom but it was ten years ago.

Jimmy's Uncle still owned a Ford Dealership in the High Street: Page Motors.

Did he actually tell you he was Jimmy's Uncle ?

The reason I ask is that I remember a newspaper article around the late 70's I think...where this person wanted it made public ( due to fans calling his number /hanging out at the garage etc) that he had no connection with Jimmy.

Hate to be the thicko of the thread, but watsis about Newark Airport being a Zep pilgrimage site; does it loom large in their legend? And if so, why for gawdsakes?!

Leddy: very cool pics, mate. That photo of Headley Grange with black dog is classic!

Well, since I live in L.A. I've been to all the local spots here: The Whisky, Rainbow Bar & Grill, Riot House, The L.A. Forum, Anaheim Convention Center and the Long Beach Sports Arena. I've also been to the San Diego Sports Arena, Madison Square Garden, Earls Court and Royal Albert Hall. Oh, and Jimmy's Tower House too. :D

Lucky Monkey! :) That is such a gorgeous area of Scotland, I really love it. Is Boleskine House still operating as a bed & breakfast? When I drove by in September, the main house looked as if it might be undergoing renovations.

No its privately owned now, I think they have just cleaned up the outside.

You are right, the whole of the highlands is gorgeous.

I thought of two more Zep landmarks, both in New Orleans: The Old Absinthe House (had a drink there, but didn't see the photo/story on the wall of Jimmy & his first wife Patricia, who was a waitress there when they met) and Royal Orleans Hotel (saw it from the street).

Replying with all the Zeppelin landmarks I've had the privledge of visiting would take me

all day, so I'll just list those I've been to which appear in The Song Remains The Same:

Hammerwood (segments of shoot-out sequence...co-owned by Page & Grant)

Horselunges Manor (Peter Grant's moated country estate)

Plumpton Place (Jimmy Page's moated country estate)

Chequers Pub (John Bonham's local pub)

Newark Intl Airport

Boleskine House (Jimmy's fantasy sequence)

Raglan Castle (Robert's fantasy sequence)

Aberdovey Gwynedd (Robert's fantasy sequence...at sea)

Old Hyde Farm (John Bonham's farm)

Blackpool (John Bonham's motorbike ride at night)

To complete TSRTS I just need to visit Robert's sheep farm on the Welsh border,

John Paul Jones' former home near Devon and Madison Square Garden. I'm still

seeking to confirm where the basement shoot out sequence was filmed (it was

not done at Hammerwood...I have outtake photos and the room is different)

and where John Paul Jones filmed his night ride on the horse (the local cemetary?)

If I've overlooked a location it's because I'm going from memory at the moment.

(Edit: A faithful Welsh fan has advised me the proper name for the location where

TSRTS boat scenes were filmed is Aberdovey Gwynedd).

Your the MAN!

damn im a tad jealous...I'm not allowed to cross the street or the pond yet.

I took this pic of Kezar Stadium in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco. I had just gotten the bootleg of June 2 1973 that took place there so I went looking for it. It's a track field now.

It's the show where the pics were taken of Robert holding the dove.

Exciting, huh?

I've only been to Headley Grange, I knocked on the door but no-one answered.

However, there was a black dog outside, couldnt resist getting him in the pic.

If you click to enlarge the house pic, you will see that there was a car outside with its hatch open, so either the people were hiding or there is an extremely low crime rate at Headley.

Thought this might be of interest !!

Stop Visiting This House Of The Holy

The owner of the house that Page & Plant once holed themselves up in to write Led Zeppelin III has appealed for fans to stop visiting it.

Reverend John Dale has owned the house for 35 years and has made a public appeal to try to curb the number of unwanted Zep fans who seem to have adopted Bron-y-Aur (after which the song was named) in the Dyfi Valley as something of a pilgrimage.

The house has seen hundreds of visitors from all over the world trespass in order to simply be in its presence, and Reverend Dale says that there have been several break-ins and the occasional theft (including someone stealing a piece of cement from the property and then posting it back).

The vicar has also been forced to paint the name of the house on a boulder outside of the property, as the house name signs are repeatedly stolen by sticky-fingered rock fans !!

I guess watch out Headley Grange etc etc !!

Does anyone have any pics of the Plumpton Place? I would think it would be easy to take some if you were visiting the college next door.

Was the Plumpton house ever a part of the college? Or is it now? Thanks
