^ Rod Stewart originally did that song as a session singer for an Australian group called Python Lee Jackson. His payment was a set of car seat covers. Powerful organ in this version - anyone we know?

Cool info there jim, thanks for sharing! Did a little Googling to try to find the organ player, no luck though.

Just discovered this one a few months ago, great Floyd-esque track, David's playing is reminiscent of his work on 'Shine On You Crazy Diamond' IMO.

Nice find, Willoughby. Enjoyed that. Maybe the closest we'd get to a Zep-Floyd. Now if we could get Jones, Gilmour, and Mason to perform No Quarter.

No reason Gilmour and JPJ couldn't do further projects - and like No Quarter, imagine the epic songs they could cover! That was JPJ on organ, on "In a Broken Dream", BTW. The picture of him with a bass was just a generic one, I believe.

David Gilmour is releasing his next solo cd in Sept 2015. Richard Wright was the keyboard player on his last solo tour, since Richard is no longer with us, maybe JPJ on keys?!

Singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Rokia Traoré's sixth album, Né So (Home), will be released by Nonesuch Records on February 12, 2016. The album was produced by John Parish (PJ Harvey, Tracy Chapman), who also produced her 2013 record, Beautiful Africa. Né So features guest performances by John Paul Jones, Toni Morrison, and Traoré's labelmate Devendra Banhart, along with Burkinabe drummer Moïse Ouattara, Ivorian bassist Matthieu N'guessan, long-time collaborator Malian ngoni player Mamah Diabaté, guitarists Rodriguez Vangama and Stefano Pilia, and backing vocalists Bule Mpania, Russell Tshiebua, and Stefy Rika.

The album, which features 10 original songs and a cover of Billie Holiday's "Strange Fruit," is available to preorder at iTunes and in the Nonesuch Store, where the title track may be downloaded immediately. Traoré has released a video of that track, directed by Romain Carciofo, which you can watch below. Traoré will tour in support of Né So this spring, with shows in New York on March 23, Washington on March 25, and Savananah on March 26 (more to be announced soon); details and at nonesuch.com/on-tour.

The links above and below also include background info about the artist, with the latter mentioning Jonesy playing live with her previously:

The Barbican also produced a three-night series of shows by Traoré that summer, entitled Donguili – Donke – Damou (Sing – Dance – Dream). For the Sing evening, held at the Barbican, Traoré and mandolinist/former Led Zeppelin bassist John Paul Jones joined young musicians from Traoré’s training program in Mali, Foundation Passerelle.
