As an aside,I long heard rumors that the LA 70 show was filmed and was viewed by a Guy in Las Vegas. Additionally,I've always wondered about that 1970 Documentary proposed by the band and if anything ever materialized In the same year,one wonders if there is more from Chris Welch and from the D&C snippet from Iceland seen on DVD. Those recordings were digitally copied and many of them wouldn't see the light of day. 1. The Led Zeppelin II Sessions - video In-studio film footage of the band laying down one of the greatest rock albums of all time. There's a 40 second clip of the II footage floating around as MPEG2 (compressed to hell). It's the same quality as the Hendrix in Laurel Canyon (TTG Studios) footage. 4. NYC 69-Recently unearthed video. *Video:* 6/79-REHEARSALS FOR KNEBWORTH VIDEO OF REHEARSALS WITH BONZO DEMONSTRATING HOW TO FOLD A SHIRT --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The following 2 entries aken from another website. These would be a holy grail if they exist. 1> Sept 4 70 Video Quote And fredg61, video does exist. I started collecting in 1986. This show was one of my 1st ones I ever got on audio. The guy I got this show from lived in Vegas. I tried getting a copy of his video but to no avail. He told me I can go over and watch it, which I did, but he promised "a friend" he'd never release it. Looks like he stuck to his promise so far. But it exists. In fact, it is taken from around the same area in the audience as the audio is because when John Paul Jones says, "Straight from the deli," a particular girl laughs, and she is also heard on the video. There were probably around 10 or so cuts of around 20 seconds each, maybe longer, probably tape replacing?? Not sure. The sound was a step below this audio probably. I gotta listen to this 1st. The video quality was like that of the Philly 1975 clips that are going around, which by the way, is not the whole concert. The Philly '75 film is being released by bits & pieces. I'd like to know by who as about 75% of that concert actually exists on film. I think these people just like to toy with us and it's pissing me off, lol. Not sure of the "friend" but living in Vegas at the time, I made friends with him because I was a wide-eyed teen who worked at his grocery store and he and his wife took a liking to me. But his collection, or part of, may have been to the Twisted Sister incident when they recorded at Pages house in the early 80's for Stay Hungry I think it was as he referred to it a couple of times. I'm positive more things will surface soon. We're gonna enter the soundboard revolution era soon. I'll track him down tho (hopefully) now that I'm collecting again. And when I get something, be shakin' not, you can be sure I'll share with you guys as I think it should be placed into as many hands for all to witness. We'll see. 2> My favorite topic: The 1970 Documentary Fact or fiction? There has been past rumour of Led Zeppelin filming in the early 1970's for a documentary about the band. There is proof obviously with the release of Royal Albert Hall and a few shots of Bath featured in the Whole Lotta Love video that footage does exist. This documentary in question was quoted by Peter Grant many years ago who said that they had plans of filming RAH and part of the US Tour in which Zep would play some of their first big venues ever as well the cameras would follow to Iceland and off to Bath. Now we've seen news related footage of Zep in Iceland but, is it possible that a professional camera team was following the band during this hyped period. Grant had also stated that there would be off stage action of the band included in the project. Led Zeppelin had made some tv appearences during this time with news stations as well as the BBC. Writer Chris Welch even captured the band in Germany with his own 8mm camera.They even made a stop at Headley Grange to record. Could this be the project in question? No doubt this would be amazing. S By this point a six month filming journey would be wrapped up and Peter hoped to see the final product out by December of that same year. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Frank, Guido? Damn, right under my nose. I grew up here in Vegas and have never heard of a Guido. I have a good friend Tony Gold who hooked me up with the first show 06-21-77 and many other shows after that. I don't think he went by the name Guido nor does he have any of the stuff you mentioned. I've known him for 20 years and I think he would have mentioned that stuff by now. I'll give him a shout and ask if he is familiar with someone who goes y "Guido". ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I just got off the phone with Tony and he's actually Guido. Before you all get your hopes up he doesn't have any of the stuff Guido is claimed to have. He did a radio show on a local station back on Memorial Day weekend of 1989 and the radio DJ gave him the name Guido. Other than close friends he never had anyone over to his house to listen to tapes or watch videos. Tony's a private person. I think facts have been mixed up over the years but straight from Tony's mouth he does not have nor ever had any of the stuff listed in the previous email. Apparently this is an email chain about uncirculating LZ footage, from a member on the Led Zeppelin fan forum "Royal Orleans". Nice stuff to read. Does anyone here know if this 40 second clip of the LZ 2 sessions circulates? As said, it's an MPEG2 video, compressed as hell. I would figure it's silent. As an aside,I long heard rumors that the LA 70 show was filmed and was viewed by a Guy in Las Vegas. Additionally,I've always wondered about that 1970 Documentary proposed by the band and if anything ever materialized In the same year,one wonders if there is more from Chris Welch and from the D&C snippet from Iceland seen on DVD. I'm do not believe the L.A. 70' show was filmed, first of all it's a rumor, and viewed by a guy in Las Vegas??? I can only imagine what that 70' documentary would've been like! If only they filmed Iceland 70' in full 16mm B/W or color film, oh well... there is 25 seconds of 8mm color film and that D&C clip. It would be neat to here an audience recording of the show also, hopefully one shows up in the future! It doesn't need to be viewed in a different country to prove that the film exists All of the Germany film exists, Assemblage 2 and Film Noir has the same amount of film from that reel. Those recordings were digitally copied and many of them wouldn't see the light of day. 1. The Led Zeppelin II Sessions - video In-studio film footage of the band laying down one of the greatest rock albums of all time. There's a 40 second clip of the II footage floating around as MPEG2 (compressed to hell). It's the same quality as the Hendrix in Laurel Canyon (TTG Studios) footage. 4. The guy I got this show from lived in Vegas. I tried getting a copy of his video but to no avail. He told me I can go over and watch it, which I did, but he promised "a friend" he'd never release it. Looks like he stuck to his promise so far. But it exists. In fact, it is taken from around the same area in the audience as the audio is because when John Paul Jones says, "Straight from the deli," a particular girl laughs, and she is also heard on the video. The video quality was like that of the Philly 1975 clips that are going around, which by the way, is not the whole concert. The Philly '75 film is being released by bits & pieces. I'd like to know by who as about 75% of that concert actually exists on film. I think these people just like to toy with us and it's pissing me off, lol. Not sure of the "friend" but living in Vegas at the time, I made friends with him because I was a wide-eyed teen who worked at his grocery store and he and his wife took a liking to me. But his collection, or part of, may have been to the Twisted Sister incident when they recorded at Pages house in the early 80's for Stay Hungry I think it was as he referred to it a couple of times. I'm positive more things will surface soon. We're gonna enter the soundboard revolution era soon. I'll track him down tho (hopefully) now that I'm collecting again. And when I get something, be shakin' not, you can be sure I'll share with you guys as I think it should be placed into as many hands for all to witness. We'll see. 2> My favorite topic: The 1970 Documentary Fact or fiction? There has been past rumour of Led Zeppelin filming in the early 1970's for a documentary about the band. There is proof obviously with the release of Royal Albert Hall and a few shots of Bath featured in the Whole Lotta Love video that footage does exist. This documentary in question was quoted by Peter Grant many years ago who said that they had plans of filming RAH and part of the US Tour in which Zep would play some of their first big venues ever as well the cameras would follow to Iceland and off to Bath. Now we've seen news related footage of Zep in Iceland but, is it possible that a professional camera team was following the band during this hyped period. Grant had also stated that there would be off stage action of the band included in the project. Led Zeppelin had made some tv appearences during this time with news stations as well as the BBC. Writer Chris Welch even captured the band in Germany with his own 8mm camera.They even made a stop at Headley Grange to record. Could this be the project in question? No doubt this would be amazing. S By this point a six month filming journey would be wrapped up and Peter hoped to see the final product out by December of that same year. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Frank, Guido? Damn, right under my nose. I grew up here in Vegas and have never heard of a Guido. I have a good friend Tony Gold who hooked me up with the first show 06-21-77 and many other shows after that. I don't think he went by the name Guido nor does he have any of the stuff you mentioned. I've known him for 20 years and I think he would have mentioned that stuff by now. I'll give him a shout and ask if he is familiar with someone who goes y "Guido". ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I just got off the phone with Tony and he's actually Guido. Before you all get your hopes up he doesn't have any of the stuff Guido is claimed to have. He did a radio show on a local station back on Memorial Day weekend of 1989 and the radio DJ gave him the name Guido. Other than close friends he never had anyone over to his house to listen to tapes or watch videos. Tony's a private person. I think facts have been mixed up over the years but straight from Tony's mouth he does not have nor ever had any of the stuff listed in the previous email. Apparently this is an email chain about uncirculating LZ footage, from a member on the Led Zeppelin fan forum "Royal Orleans". Nice stuff to read. Does anyone here know if this 40 second clip of the LZ 2 sessions circulates? As said, it's an MPEG2 video, compressed as hell. I would figure it's silent. Ledzepfilm, this is AWESOME NEWS!
