From RollingStone.com:

Joe Walsh's first solo album in two decades finds the former James Gang member and longtime Eagle contemplating life in the digital age. Analog Man is co-produced by the guitarist and Jeff Lynne and features Walsh's brother-in-law – Ringo Starr – on drums. The album will be released on June 5th, but you can preview the title track today.

This cover of "Rollin' n' Tumblin'" isn't from an album, rather it's the first of a series of singles called Songs of the South that the North Mississippi Allstars are releasing. Here's more on that from their Facebook page:

North Mississippi Allstars are excited to announce their Songs of the South 7” Single Series. The band is planning to release a series of digital singles throughout 2012, which will be available for download via iTunes and the band’s official website. Some of the singles in the series will feature special guest appearances and some will be accompanied by a music video.

The first single in the series is the barn-burner "Rollin’ n Tumblin'", a cover of the traditional blues classic. The video for the song is available to watch now on NMA’s YouTube page.

In addition to this project, Luther Dickinson will be releasing three albums on May the 8th:

Share a night of tales and songs with one of Australia’s most iconic singer songwriters

John Butler returns to his roots to perform a series of solo concerts throughout the country in March and April. Aptly titled “Tin Shed Tales”, the tour takes in capital cities and a host of regional areas; these shows will be a rare opportunity to hear the music of this iconic artist in a raw and intimate setting.

John will be bringing his Tin Shed along for the ride, decked out with a collection of personal art pieces, old skool skateboards and vintage guitars, these items are laid out in his shed at home where he draws inspiration for his art and songwriting.

The Tin Shed Tales tour will feature special guests Felicity Groom and Mama Kin, who will open and participate in the shows (see list of shows below).

In December last year John decided to put on a surprise concert for his fans in Perth. The unplugged acoustic show was announced a day before the performance and with only 300 seats available it sold out in under seven minutes. He shared many anecdotes with the audience and performed songs from his vast catalogue spanning across all five albums.

Thus the “Tin Shed Tales” concept came to life.

There's still no actual confirmation that ZZ Top are going to be releasing a new album this year but here's a teaser video for a new song called "I've Got To Get Paid". At 1:54 it's definitely not a full length version of the song. According to the post about it on their FB page, it's apparently a single. If so, then I'm not sure what

was.

Chatham County Line's first ever live album (and DVD) is due for release on June 26th. Cool to find out that I was actually in attendance at this particular concert. I can't wait to hear it.

Chatham County Line to release live 2xCD/LP + DVD box set, SIGHT & SOUND – Out 6/26

Yep Roc Records is pleased to announce the June 26th, 2012 release of Sight & Sound, a two-CD/LP audio and video collection from North Carolina based Chatham County Line. Sight & Sound includes 20 live tracks drawing from all five albums of the band’s decade-long career. Nine songs appear on both the audio CD/LP and the DVD; four are exclusive to the DVD, while the CD/LP expands the collection with seven more tracks.

The idea for Sight & Sound stemmed from the booking of a show shortly after the release of the band’s fifth album, Wildwood, in the summer of 2010. Chatham County Line had arranged an August 10 date at the Raleigh, NC’s Fletcher Opera Theater, “and we realized what a sit-down, comfortable, well-staged place it was to have a performance,” Dave Wilson, the band’s guitarist and primary vocalist, recalled. “We figured no matter what that we’d get some cameras in there to tape it.” From there, Yep Roc took the ball and ran with it, setting the wheels in motion to have the show professionally filmed and recorded.

“It was something the fans have always asked for. A lot of people think we sound better live and in-person than we do on record. They’ll say, ‘We wish your records sounded like you do live!’ And there was a thought of this kind of being a loose ‘Greatest Hits,’ if you will, so it has songs from each record gathered all in one place,” says Wilson.

They go all the way back to the beginning — “Closing Town,” the leadoff track on the very first Chatham County Line recording in 2003 — as well as revisiting three songs each from 2005′s Route 23 and 2006′s Speed of the Whippoorwill. There’s a bit more focus on the band’s two most recent albums, 2008′s IV and 2010′s Wildwood, perhaps a reflection of how much the band has come into its own in the past few years.
