scylla
A thread dedicated to the hotels graced (or trashed) by the band. If you have any information on which hotels were used when playing smaller towns, please share! If you've stayed in any of them yourself and have pics / anecdotes, ditto. kenog
Scylla, I know that Robert (when touring as a solo artist) has stayed in the Malmaison Hotel, and the George Hotel, both in Edinburgh. http://www.malmaison.com/locations/edinburgh/ http://www.thegeorgehoteledinburgh.co.uk/?gclid=CJqeiMn4i7cCFS7KtAodS00ASA Led Zeppelin used Blakes Hotel in South Kensington. I visited there back in the early 90's for drinks. It is ultra-expensive, very small and the restaurant downstairs is done out with black table cloths and candles . It looked like a Black Mass. kenog
clw, It is affordable to eat in the George Hotel and The Malmaison, but trust me you would have to remortgage your house to eat in Blakes Hotel, London. Anyway, Robert stayed in the Malmaison when he played the Corn Exchange in Edinburgh in 2005. I have a contact who met Robert coming out of the hotel in 2005. Robert was walking along the road with a blonde!! I assumed it might be his girlfriend around that time, Jessica Jupp, but I can't be sure. My contact spoke to Robert and said he was very friendly. http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/robert-plant/2005/corn-exchange-edinburgh-scotland-33d0f045.html looks like a couple of nice places,I looked at the food and that looks yummy too, wonder what the guys like to eat..ya know so when they pop over for a chat I know what to cook!!!
