Nechtology
I was just wondering, what with Zep having such a wide ranging fanbase, what other bands other forumers listen to. My top 10 (not including zep) are:- Metallica Queen Opeth Iron Maiden Dream Theater Queensryche Alice In Chains Pantera Public Enemy Slayer
Munoz
Shouldn't this be in the "Other bands/Music" Forum...? Anyway.. That list is pretty good, but I can't say I like Maiden. Never have actually. I've never heard of Queensryche and I don't have an opinion on Public Enemy, Pantera or Slayer, since I've never heard their music. Queen has a few good songs. I would add Jimi Hendrix, Cream and Eric Clapton to that list.

Jarlaxle 56
I have a friend who is OBSESSED with Dream Theater, can't say I'm a huge fan....I've heard Opeth is really good, just never bothered to listen to them yet. However I do like Pantera and Metallica. Pretty good list, I'm surprised you like rap as well (Public Enemy) not many Zeppelin fans do.

The only thing that tends to put people off is the fact they use "Growling" vocals at times. But once you get used to this there is an incredible world of musical discovery there, and when Mikael Akerfeldt (vocals) sings cleanly, he has one of the most beautiful voices in music. I would recommend the album "Ghost Reveries", as I would put this album up there with the classic albums - simply awesome. The musical landscape shifts from full on death metal, into beautiful acoustic passages (with clean vocals) into eastern tinged sounds. I cannot recommend this highly enough! As far as rap goes, I'm really into "old school" rap/hip hop such as Public Enemy, Eric b And Rakim, Ice Cube, Beastie Boys, NWA (I hate modern day rap). I'm suprised more Zep fans don't listen to some of this stuff, and some on Bonham's drumming has a real hip hop groove to it (oh, I'm a drummer by the way!!) Also, I can't agree more with some old rap, I mean The Beastie Boys even sampled some Zeppelin. I'm also a drummer, Jack Irons (Chili Peppers) is probably my favourite "funk-rock" drummer

Ady
I'm mainly into hard rock from the late 60's/early 70's. A top ten is too difficult as there is so much great music from this period, but here are ten bands off the top of my head that I really like a lot: Black Sabbath Deep Purple Budgie Uriah Heep Free Flower Travellin' Band Hawkwind Jethro Tull Necromandus Captain Beyond
