OAKLAND, Calif. - Four members

of the Led Zeppelin rock music band

have been convicted on battery charges

stemming from a fracas during a concert

last July.

Municipal Court Judge Roderic Duncan

sentenced the band members —

John Bonham, 29, Peter Grant, 42, Richard

Cole, 31, and John Bindon, 31 -

for battery on three security guards.

They were placed on probation.

The musicians' attorneys, Richard B.

Mazer of San Francisco and Jeffrey C.

Hoffman of New York, appeared in

court on their behalf to present their

pleas of no contest and accept the sentences

in absentia.
