  1. Like I said, if one of them fails to wake up in the morning the other two will kick themselves for not doing this now. A 2008 Raising Sand Tour would be forgotten about in a year, a 2008 Zeppelin tour would be legendary. Alison Krauss can wait...
  2. Sorry but that's bullshit... When you are in your 60's and are lucky to have survived your 30's, time isn't on your side. They haven't been this close in twenty years, it's now or never. The day one of these guys doesn't wake up in the morning is too late to wish they had done more. Alison has a career that doesn't include Robert and Raising Sand. Let her wait...
  3. Did he just finish a Zep concert or did he hit a home run in the World Series?
  4. I can guarantee that won't be the setlist.
  5. Seems pretty clear to me, Dad better come along or you're screwed.
  6. Apparently Grandma still has to come even if she lives in the States. What a riot...
  7. At some point the mods should have posted a "sticky" to halt the ridiculous amount of threads regarding this subject. If nothing else set a post count before someone can start a thread. Unfortunately it's probably too late, and only going to get worse over the next few days....
  8. I'm sure there is more than one moron in Rochester but what are the odds of running into another one here? My recollection is that you mentioned it in virtually every post. Regardless of the topic. I don't think that's why you were run off of the other board though....
  9. Here lies the problem. I took the initial post of this thread to mean that the people who thought they were going to see a LED ZEPPELIN concert, are in fact going to see a cover band under the same name. As if it was started just to dispute anyone claiming to have seen LZ on the 10th or afterward. The old "My Zep was better than yours" kind of schoolyard crap. We can't bring Bonzo back unfortunately, but Jason will fill in just fine. So what is the need to compare the two, instead of just being thankful that they are playing at all? Furthermore.... If it's not Led Zeppelin why is it bei
  10. I never knew Dave Mason was a member of Pink Floyd.... I guess you learn something new everyday.
  11. It's funny I never hear anyone complaining that it wasn't the Yardbirds when Jimmy joined and eventually took over the band. Although I'm sure there's some grumbling on the Clapton and Beck forums....
  12. I think everyone understands how important John Bonham was to Led Zeppelin and nobody is arguing the fact that he will always be sorely missed. If it were anyone other than Jason taking his place I think there would be more of us questioning calling this a Led Zeppelin concert. But let's be honest, I can envision Bonzo with a big shit eating grin on his face knowing that his son is filling in. And that's good enough for me. If people were to dwell on the passing of a loved one the way some of you are reacting to this, then people would never re marry, or get another dog. It's a bit ridiculo
  13. Good luck Maui I've been pulling for you all along. Wish I could help you out and in turn soak up some Hawaii sunshine.
  14. Didn't you get chased off of the old board Rick? Don't you want to wax poetic some more about 77?
  15. I guess you got your answer. And like I said before, who cares what you think? Why is this thread retarded? Because it is being billed as Led Zeppelin by the band themselves. Throw in the fact that Bonzo's offspring is behind the kit, and your argument qualifies as being retarded. It's not like they recruited Don Henley to play drums. What's next? Are we going to argue the validity of a peanut butter and jelly sandwich because someone used crunchy instead of creamy peanut butter? Give it a rest and let everyone who is attending this or any other LED ZEPPELIN concert enjoy it w
  16. Who cares what you think? They are being billed as Led Zeppelin and that's exactly what people are going to see. Plant, Page, Jones, Bonham. Without the luxury of a time machine this is the best we're gonna get. I'll bet the majority of those attending never had the chance to see them play together before, and aren't going to be disappointed. Since this is the closest thing we have to the original lineup, quit pissing in everyones cereal and let them enjoy it. Jesus... This show has spawned some of the stupidest threads I've ever seen, ranging from redundant to retarded. This one being
  17. I never received this email at all, which makes me wonder if my registration even went through. At the time, I received a confirmation that I was registered but nothing since then...
  18. More exciting perhaps is the fact that they are out and about together. I hope that is a sign that all is well at the rehearsals.
  19. On the surface I'm a skeptic, but after looking over the past performers at this festival there are some interesting Zeppelin related connections. Obviously Jonesy has played there himself, and then most notably The Black Crowes, T Bone Burnett, Alison Krauss, and Steve Winwood. I know it sounds crazy and I'd like to write it off as bullshit, but I can see them playing an event like this. Either way, I signed up for the mailing list.
  20. No. They played the Meadowlands Arena (later renamed The Continental Airlines Arena), not Giants Stadium. There is no confusing the two, Giants Stadium holds 80,000 + for a concert and Page/Plant never played there. Edit: If you were there you would know that.
  21. They didn't play Giants Stadium in 95 (or ever) they played the arena. I was there....
  22. I totally disagree. I've seen countless shows in that building and most of them sounded fantastic. It may vary from group to group but the last gig I saw there was Roger Waters and it sounded absolutely incredible. Waters even commented during the show that he's played all over the world and nothing sounds like MSG. Edit: From what I've heard The Police were awful, not the venue...
