  1. We all have that passion Deborah. There's a line that should drawn between archivism and sheer stalkerism.

Anyone can go online and find most of the info they seek about this band. We don't need a self proclaimed "archivist" to fan his own glory, especially on this site...probably the reason why many purists "left" this site. "Left" it long enough to watch him 'crash an burn'. I really can't believe it's taken this long...Enjoy the band and it's music, not it's itinerary, for cryin' out loud!!!

  2. FWIW, the Superstar Concert Series radio broadcast is absolutely pre-recorded, not live.

It has Commercials for Coke, Sprite and Levis as well as breaks for local stations. I have

listed the musical content below. I cannot fathom this having gone out live, as so far as I know Westwood One Radio never did live simulcasts for Superstar Concert Series, King Biscuit Flower Hour, etc. I've got a very hazy recollection of Jimmy himself having taken a personal interest in the outcome of the editing for the 1985 Firm WWO SSC Series program. It was of course their first tour and he wanted the showcasing to be just right. Additionally, there is no mention whatsoever in the news archives of the Cleveland Plain Dealer for a live simulcast in '85 or '86. Perhaps the airdate (weekend of Aug 9, 1986)

or the program listing below will jog some memories for you.

Westwood One Radio Networks - Superstar Concert Series

    05 - Prelude [1:55]

    06 - Money Can't Buy [4:54]

    10 - Cadillac [6:38]

    11 - You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling [5:20]

    12 - Midnight Moonlight [11:12]

    13 - Tear Down The Walls [5:10]

    14 - Live In Peace [5:18]

I'm going to try and get up with the DJ that was here during that period. He was well respected in this area at the time and I believe he worked from 76 til the early 90's.I talked to him on a few occasions and he really enjoyed Led Zeppelin.

  3. Revisiting the soundboard recording for Cleveland 5/11/86 as I post this. Volume set to 10, the windows in the turret rattling. 'Fortune Hunter' is the show opener and everyone in Cleveland is losing their minds over it. 'Someone to Love'. God, that brings back memories of spotlights and denim and...moving under moonlight. 'Live In Peace' sounds so poignant. The Firm. A better band than you may or may not recall.

I still think that was a live simulcast Steve.

I sat in my living room and listened to it in 86 (in quad) :D I thought it was a great performance,Jimmy was definitely "on" that night!

Any luck finding out whether or not it was?

  4. Cheap Trick should be great. Too bad they aren't the headliners on that tour, which is where they belong. I'd have no interest whatsoever in seeing the other two bands.

Cheap Trick would be an awesome show.I wouldn't mind seeing them too.

I may check out Joan Jett next weekend in Raleigh.A free concert at Moore Square Park. It's part of the Summer Concert series...We saw Candlebox there May 30th and they kicked ass!!!

  5. As I recall, the "Cleveland" bootleg actually features their Hara Arena (Dayton, OH) gig

(5/9/86) recorded by Westwood One for a Superstars In Concert radio broadcast later

that summer. The Cleveland gig was postponed a day (someone who was on the tour told me Jimmy was food-poisoned at an Oriental restaurant after the Dayton concert) and performed on Mother's Day. A special section was reserved to allow free admission

to Mother's attending with their children (I'm not kidding!).

I recall the Cleveland gig being a live simulcast on Westwood One.I listened to it here in NC.Jimmy was great that night and I tried to tape it but my machine fucked up.I'm sure that anyone could have gotten a decent recording... I tried to get my friend in Cleveland to go see it but he was really sick at the time.He still regrets not going. :D

  6. In other words lude man. You would rather interfere with me raising more money for food for children in order to make you feel good?

Man, that's very sad. If you have that many head problems, well I think you need therapy.

Disrupt other peoples fundraisers man. Because that's just sick.

With you and your pal Joel around I will do it elsewhere. Because it's a certainty you will have to mess it up just to be a punk.

Go tell it to someone who gives a shit. This ain't no fundraising thread you idiot...If children were to depend on you for food, they'd starve.

    Give it up,you multibanned windbag.

  7. :duel:

I'll duel with you when I have the time

Eh, all in fun anyhoo.....just a thing. Your estrogen will be in the mail though byatchs.

BTW Drew Barrymore as the Ambassador Against Hunger loves me and my lil donkey. So if you can spare even just a buck for these kids.

    Please do.

Thank's guys. When I find a pic I will send it up..oh yeah she puts you on a wall of sorts too if you donate it on her web domain.

What kind of ruse have you come up with now.Seems like you like to deflect your Edness.
  8. Count me in, as well.

I just want to mention that not all Jews are as bitter or as unhinged. I'm (hopefully) neither.

And, NessYah? You might want to not promote the fact that this is your third reincarnation. You could've at least changed your friggin' avatar. You were booted the first time around for a reason...

Maybe she thinks the third time is a charm too.

  9. Make that two of us getting tired of the ramblings and Hitler referrals as well

Go ahead and count me in.The third time is a charm. ...but I'm sure that there are plenty more on here that think you have lost your marbles, all of them!

It's a Zep board,no need to get freaky.I'm sure that there are loads of other boards that you would fit so nicely into.Go play with them. <_<
