Wow, I haven't posted in here in ages. So, lately, a few things that have made me happy:
- Spent last weekend with a good friend of mine who had just returned to the US after spending 10 months in Guantanamo Bay. It was awesome catching up with her...I missed her a ton!
- Met a new guy; our first date is tomorrow night.
And...
- Going to New York City in June! I've never been...so excited!

I was watching a video on YouTube of Aerosmith performing "Sweet Emotion" live and at one point they break into the middle of "Dazed and Confused." It was AWESOME; they really nailed it. It put a huge smile on my face. They start playing it at the 5:35 mark...check it out:

We had a death in the family that really came as a shock.
I'm so sorry to hear about that.
Well, technically this wasn't today, but this past Sunday I heard someone living on the floor above me puking his guts out. I just had to hear it right before I was about to eat lunch. Needless to say I quickly lost my appetite. Ah, the joys of apartment living.

Stephenie Meyer's "Breaking Dawn." 250 more pages and I will have officially read the entire Twilight series...yay. lol

Hi:
I'm very happy today..my car went for its regular service. They change the oil, check the fluids etc so it's ready for the Canadian winter...it also needed the tires rotated. It was making a loud noise last Sunday morning. I have been scared that something was very wrong. The noise was caused by a belt that has been fixed. There were a couple of other things but nothing real serious or expensive so the bill was reasonable.
I am very dependent on my car. I need it for work. There is no public transit in this rural town I live in either. I get very nervous whenever my car has to be checked.
So I can breath a million sighs of relief that it's o.k and ready for the wonderful Canadian winter,eh?

I'm glad your car's service went well. I get kinda nervous myself whenever I take my car in, even though there hasn't been anything wrong with it so far. Mostly because my previous car gave me so many problems. There's public transit where I live, but it's not good enough to depend on entirely.
I'm happy about going to the state fair tonight, in which its slogan happens to be "A Whole Lotta Happy!"

I'm going to Kashmir!
Okay, not really...in reality I'm checking out a martini bar that just opened, which is spelled as "Cashmere." But it SOUNDS cool...

Listening to Marvin Gaye's "Got To Give It Up". It's one of those songs that make me want to dance in front of a big crowd!

My computer is running better than ever. For a while it was acting really sluggish because my hard drive was completely full (despite deleting and uninstalling a ton of stuff, running disk cleanup...the whole nine yards). My brother the computer guru stepped in to wipe my hard drive and re-install the operating system. Now my computer is as good as new!

My computer has been acting sluggish, and it's frozen up on me twice today. It's. Driving. Me. Mad.

A guy who recently moved in to my neighborhood smiled and said hello to me as we were passing each other. He was absolutely gorgeous.

I finally got to see The Hangover last night. I hadn't laughed so much in a long time!
-
My cousins x-rays came back positive for breast cancer. It doesn't look good according to someone else in the fam.
I'm so sorry to hear about that.

Got off work early and spent some time at a bookstore, drinking coffee (that I got for free!) and reading the newspaper.

My computer's monitor at work was acting up this morning...it wasn't displaying anything until like, 5 minutes later. I told a coworker about it, and she was like, "Well maybe you shouldn't be using your family pictures as your screensaver." Apparently she thought the problem was due to a virus. I called our IT department to report the problem, and it was confirmed the problem was caused by the monitor itself. I got a new monitor and everything was back to normal. It had NOTHING to do with a virus. I was pissed that my coworker automatically assumed it was my fault that the monitor was not working.

Our brand new puppy!!
Meet Theodore Roosevelt.....Teddy if he's not being a trouble-maker. LOL
What a cute dog!
So what made me happy today (well technically yesterday)...friends, alcohol, and Pictionary. Put it all together and you get one hell of a good time.

Hanging out at home and enjoying a good book!

My favorite hairstylist will no longer be working due to health issues. Her last day is in two weeks. She's one of the few people in my life who really know how to work with my curly hair. Even after moving two hours away I'd still go to her. I'm really going to miss her. I dread the thought of having to look for a new stylist...

Technically this was yesterday, but I was happy spending the day at the beach and then hearing "Stairway To Heaven" on the radio on the way home.

Tomorrow will be FRIDAY!

This might be TMI for some, but Aunt Flo will be making her next monthly visit soon and for that reason I feel like crap...so much that I called in sick today.
