  1. Interesting article. Thanks Steve. Seems like the conditions at that aquarium were somewhat inhumane but Robert swimming with the dolphins was not. There seems to be a huge attraction for humans to interact with animals, especially dolphins. Robert probably knew someone at Ocean World who allowed him the opportunity to swim in the tanks with the dolphins. It probably was not unusual for the trainers and keepers to get in the tanks with the dolphins, so it was no big deal for Robert to do it. The media just used it as one incident to force the aquarium to close down. I have swam with dolphins twice in Cozumel and on Tortula in the Virgin Islands. It was fantastic and for some people it is the dream of a lifetime to do so. In the 1980's there weren't places like Discovery Cove in Orlando where people could actually swim with the dolphins. Rock stars had opportunities to do things that the average person did not have access to do at that time.
  2. Wow! I wish I could have been there (too young). This is a great description of the early days. I wish all of the press coverage could have been so favorable for the band's sake. It just goes to show how amazing Led Zeppelin was and shows why we Americans fell in love with them right from the begining.

  10. I have only heard solo Robert material. Everytime I am in my car I hear "In The Evening". Seems they keep playing the same songs in the same rotation. I have heard a few live songs but not from HTWWW. I am not familiar with all of the bootleg versions of each song so I couldn't tell you where and when they were from. The interviews are ones we have all heard before. Nothing new. I enjoy the ones from JPJ alot.
  11. It is on Sirius 12 and it started today at 6PM Eastern time. I happened to be in my car and heard the start up. Very exciting. Looks like my satellite station is going to remain on 12 for the duration.
  12. Little Feat: Dixie Chicken/Tripeface Boogie from "Waiting for Columbus"
  13. I just posted this under Ramble On/College Football thread. A few minutes ago when ABC/ESPN went into commercial during the Ohio State/Penn State football game, they played the riff from "The Ocean".
  14. Earlier this week our local newspaper's crossword puzzle had a clue: "Led Zeppelin song?" Answer was "Tea for One"
  15. Les Paul Tribute Concert, Cleveland in November AC/DC, Cincinnati in January Metallica will be in Columbus on November 9th. Tickets were available in the nose-bleed section at the Shottenstein Arena as of last week for around $37. Don't know if any are still available.
  16. AC/DC live at Donnington Castle, England, from August 17, 1991, Monsters of Rock Festival.
  17. I'm sorry. I noticed a typo. It is November 21 for the Columbus concert. Not the 12th. My Bad! Just figured out how to edit the typo, so this post was unecessary. So sorry! I am new here. Thank you for your patience. Sincererly, BUCK"EYE" DOC
  18. AC/DC is playing in Colulmbus at the Shottenstein Center on the Ohio State University Campus on November 21. This happens to be the night before the OSU-Michigan football game, which will be played on the OSU campus in Columbus on Saturday. The campus/city goes crazy the week before the football game. With the concert the night before and probably ESPN College Game Day being held on campus on Saturday (maybe not because Michigan is not in contention for winning the Big 10 this year, but still it is a major rivalry and anything can happen at this game), there will be major partying going on. I have tickets for the Cincinnati concert on January 11th. The Columbus tickets sold out the day they went on sale. Also, I wanted to avoid the bedlam on campus that weekend. My favorite AC/DC songs are "Hell's Bells", "It's a Long Way to the Top if You Want to Rock and Roll", and "Highway to Hell". Just saw the "No Bull" concert on VH1 Classic. It was phenomenal! Led Zeppelin is number one on my favorite/best band list. Still hoping to see a concert with all or some of the remaining members and Jason.
