  1. Esteemed Joelmon -

I have a missing link pressing of Heartbreak Hotel which states "LA Forum"....the versions of the songs i prefer are on this one.....i think u misread but thanks anyway. the black dog and othafa on htwww are from this if i recall!.....cheers

Oh...my confusion.....thanks for pointing that out.

    I was having a dyslexic moment. :D

  2. I don't have any news on the Keith Moon doc but will say if you ever have a chance to see Ian and the Bump Band, by all means do so.

I'm not exactly sure if it was the 'Bump' band...but I saw Ian play at Waterloo Records in Austin and he had Mark Andes on Bass....He was the bassist for Spirit, back in the day. Looked about 30 ! Must've been the good acid !

Hotplant had posted she was a friend of his I believe.....

  3. Seeing my friend at the hospital with all his tubes taken off of him !! I've been going daily.

All he has now is a feeding tube in his nose.

I've known my pal for 33 years...and he just recently had a brain aneurysm. The doctors and nurses at Vanderbilt University have been most professional and incredibly nice...

So yeah...that made me happy. :)

  4. I'm sure some of you will hate my guts for saying this....but, I just never liked her. It's okay driving in the car listening to one of her hits. That's about it. Am I going to sit at home alone analysing the meaning of her music/lyrics. Probably not. There is a whole group of artists from the sixties I find repulsive, Joplin, Hendrix, Jefferson Airplane, Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young. There, I just made some more friends. All these hippie, dippie, American, drug taking, getting arrested acts. Maybe it's because, my main thing during my formative years was British rock. Then around 75/76 I got into punk and I really hated them all.

    Gawd !

I hate your guts !!!

No DJ slot for you at my party !!!

Hmmmm....'hippie, dippie'.....are you George Carlin, shit stirrer esq. ?

  5. Have fun and good luck!

    I don't have a DVD reader on my desktop where I normally do screencaps....and it's XP..so it's easy to screensave....alt/prntscreen paste to paing cntrl/v

but I dont know how to do it with Vista...which is on my lappy with the DVD reader...hmmmm...

I need to find out why the same prompt doesn't work with vista OS....

  6. Didn't the remaining members of the Grateful Dead call themselves "The Others" or something like that? I see Bob Weir's band is called "Ratdog" - I'm assuming they do alot of Dead material, do they do any Kingfish?

I pretty much only see Hot Tuna the past few years, got tired of the high ticket prices and sloppy efforts of other old groups...

Yeah...they did call themselves The Other Ones for awhile...then changed it to just The Dead....

  7. I'd have loved to have seen The Dead but they weren't playing in England by the time I got into them.

Last concert for me was Dylan about this time last year. 9th or 1oth time I've seen him and one of the best, he's really be rejuvenated recently

I'm sure you're not...but please don't confuse The Dead, with The Grateful Dead. I mean, I was LUCKY enough to see Jerry alive....and The Dead was a technically a continuation without Jerry.

  8. The last concert I attended....on this date, 2-21 was the Grateful Dead, in 1995 !

    :D

You can listen to a fantastic streaming soundboard of this show here....consider one of the best for '95 and all time by many Deadheads...

  9. Chell, you posted my 2 fave moments from the DVD!!

    :notworthy:

Here's my first try at a YouTube screenshot:

    14v1idd.jpg

Edited to say I know it's not a smile... I just got screen cap happy. :D

Yay Roxie !! what did you crop in ? Photoshop or another picture processing program ?

  10. Well, photobucket isn't in the mood to upload so it will have to wait.

As for now I have to go. The eclipse is about to happen. I must be prepared, with camera (if it has batteries), and my ipod blasting No Quarter as it happens.

    Upload thru tinypic.com !

    and it's cloudy here .... :(

*..No it's NOT !! I can see the moon between some clouds !

  11. I forgot a step....

After you put the pic onto your Paint palett....you have to save it...to your photos....I change it to a jpeg.

then open THAT pic, which is the full youtube page....in Picture It (Windows) or if you have photoshop, then crop the picture out of the whole page...and save it again to your hardrive....I upload to tinypic.com for quick and easy posting...

  12. What's printscreen? I can't find it and I have the perfect smile picture.

ON my keyboard...to the right and up from the letters etc...are PrintScreen/SysRq Scrolllock Pause/Break....

do you see it up over there ?

  13. It's easy to capture Roxie.....hit pause while viewing your youtube clip....then capture the screen....alt/Printscreen.....the open Paint...and click cntrl v. then crop out your picture. :)

I tweaked the sharpness and color tone just a bit too.....The microphone on his neck is kinda in the way here.....

  14. It's definitely a more complete show. I have the version called "Heartbreak Hotel". I prefer the version of Rock and Roll on mine and probably Stairway to Heaven and SIBLY - these versions were better than the ones on HTWWW

You've actually picked the songs that were sourced from the Long Beach show of the 27th, not the LA forum show of the 25th, which was 'Heartbreak Hotel' and 'Burn like a Candle'....

Did you know that ? You're very discerning. B)

Check here for reference sources for HTWWW...
