Wonderful to see this. Even footage like this, shot from one angle, slightly blurry and chopped up, just proves once again that Led Zeppelin were/are the greatest rock band of the lot. Thanks a lot for sharing.

Definitely one of my favourite tours by the band , with some really great nights that, for me, rank alongside their best earlier shows. Recently caught up again with two performances that sometimes get overlooked, Inglewood Forum/L.A. Forum , June 25th and 27th, and both are great listens.

'Fixin' To Die' cd, Helsinki '70. Not the most balanced sound as its a bit guitar heavy, but good if you want to hear what Mr. Page was up to that night.

I always thought that Custard Pie would make a great live set song. Be nice to actually hear some aural evidence that it was played on stage, if only the once.

For me, No Quarter really became a centre piece of the bands live set. Got a soft spot for any of the Earls Court, L.A. '75 and '77 versions and San Diego '77 also moves along well. Great piece of music.

Every day is a school day, my friend. Many people mused for years whether the band did ever really play Carnegie Hall, for example. Some said yes, others said no, and then out of the blue turns up an actual recording of the event. Keep looking, keep reading and keep rummaging around.

JPJ always went a little bit just under the radar and I suspect that it suited him just fine. Personally, I think he was a giant in that band he used to play in. Happy Birthday and have a great 2024 and many more of them.

After revisiting Stephen Davis book, 'LZ-75', I've been listening again to some of the shows he writes about during his time following the band on tour that year. So far it's been Madison Square Garden, New York on Feb. 7th, followed by the Olympia Stadium, Detroit on Jan 31st. San Diego Sports Arena on March 10th is probably going to be next. It was a hell of a year, with some terrific concerts, when the band was probably at its commercial peak.

First bit of illicit live Led Zeppelin I ever had. It was a tape swap, older readers might remember those, and the show was recorded on two 90minute cassette's which I've still got in my home made cover. Not really the best recording, some of the soundboard/mixing desk tapes can have a very dry, almost dead sound and I much prefer the ambience of a good audience recording. Nevertheless, it was Led Zeppelin live with no overdubs or studio making good and was exactly what was played on the night in Cleveland. I suspect a lot of older fans would have got into the listening and collecting of live shows by the band through titles like 'Destroyer', 'Mudslide' and 'Going To California", etc.

I love the bands live sets from '69, full of power, subtlety, folk and the blues. '77 though is really my favourite. Their set list really ran through the full range of the music the band had made up to that point and was an absolute killer. Add that to the venue and, as we all now know, you had some of the greatest shows of the bands career.
