  1. Many more of them Robert and thank you, Jimmy, John Paul and John for the music.
  2. I have also. It proves that there are real gems to enjoy through the bands whole touring existence.
  3. For a long time I was not really a huge fan of the '77 US tour, now my opinion has totally changed. It is among my favourite set lists of all the bands tours and really does show, in my opinion, the whole length and breadth of what they were capable of on stage and record, and some of the shows themselves were just terrific. San Diego and the great run of shows at HQ, I mean the Inglewood Forum, are just marvellous to be able to relive today and I have by no means heard every concert from that tour. Time for a reappraisal of that tour more generally?
  4. I always thought that both Custard Pie and The Rover would have been stunning stage songs for the band.
  5. Hellfire! That crowd shot really did make it seem up close and personal when you saw the band, you were almost on the stage. I've got to say also that the expression on your ex's face is a true classic. In the U.K. we have a saying about someone being "gobsmacked". It means that someone is literally dumbstruck or lost for words, and he sure looks that way. Mind you, with what he is witnessing and hearing from only a couple yards away who could blame him?
  6. Just being curious, but did you get to see the band again on later tours at the Garden, or anywhere else, or was that your first and last experience of them live?
  7. Beyond incredible, Ana for a lot of people you were one of the highlights of the film. Seriously though it's nice you've found your way here, hope you've had a great life since that show.
  8. If its the soundboard recording you will not be disappointed, great sound and great show.
  9. One of the very best Zeppelin shows, what a live band they were.
  10. That's pretty much what I thought. This show has had a lousy press over the years but I think an upgraded version of the tape of it has just made its way onto disc and it paints a truer picture of the gig. Cheers.
  11. How do you rate the Greensboro show? I know this is not a too highly rated affair but apparently an upgraded tape is an improvement on what was available before.
  12. Over the years I have often thought myself that, allowing for personal preferences for a particular tour, setlist or whatever, just how plain privileged we all are that so many of the bands shows were recorded and are available for listening too. We can experience the good, bad and sometimes even indifferent nights by the band but we also can relive the magical ones that show that this group were untouchable. 'Dazed and Confused' was often a vehicle, in my opinion, for some of that untouchability and every version I've heard from '75 I've liked.
  13. Probably, just for old times sake, for me it would be 4/27/77. Back in the days when tape trading was the most common way of hearing live concert recordings, this was the first live led Zeppelin I had heard. It would easily be well over thirty five years since I first heard this recording. Sure, its not the very best night of the tour and the lack of audience noise does the recording no favours but I'd plump for this.
  14. It teeters right on the edge at times but this is just great.
  15. Of the shows I've heard from this terrific series of concerts in L.A., this one is the pick. The "Eddie" and "Badgeholders" gigs always make the headlines but this one from the 25th is a must have .
  16. Literally had cold shivers watching this, particularly the first clip. Thanks for posting.
  17. The album is "Going To California".
  18. Mr.Page, not much too say except Happy Birthday and thanks a lot for the music.
  19. 1 = A ( Very nearly had the + to go with the A, what a debut record ). 2 = A+ ( Superlative album ). 3 = A+ ( As above, showing the versatility and musical influences of the band ). 4 = A+ ( Nothing needs to be said ). Houses ...... = B ( Some terrific songs and future live favourites let down by an awful sounding recording ). Physical ...... = A+ ( See comment for Zep 4 ). Presence ...... = B ( Some good songs among the not so hot ). In Through ...... B ( As above ).
  20. It was all over with the death of John Bonham, I'm glad that the surviving members of the band had the integrity to realise this and that they broke up when they did.
